I understand the money multiplying effect, we still would have been far better off subsidizing businesses through tax incentives for job creation. If what you say is true that Australia essentially gave the money away we probably would have been better off doing that as well as it would have been a one time hit, instead we held on to every single government job out there, and in fact even created more government jobs, while the tax base is shrinking which is only going to further exacerbate the deficit problem.
