Washington (CNN)Patrick Kennedy, a mental health advocate and former Rhode Island congressman, penned an op-ed Monday calling on Americans to stop calling Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump "crazy" because it demeans those who suffer from real mental health issues.

Kennedy, the youngest son of the longtime Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy, writes in The Washington Post that the rhetoric surrounding the 2016 election discourages anyone suffering mental health issues from seeking help.

"With all of this damaging rhetoric floating around in our national political discourse, especially what we hear from and about Trump, it's no wonder that people remain silent and the suffering continues," Kennedy wrote. "So if you've got a criticism about Trump's temperament, fine. But let's eliminate the name-calling and grade-school bullying. As Michelle Obama put it, 'When they go low, we go high.'"...

  2. We can laugh about how biased the mainstream media are, but then you read stuff from people like nitro or talk to people and they regurgitate the media's talking points verbatim. Trump is crazy, Trump is unstable, Trump is dangerous. No substance, their eyes glaze over if you mention Hillary, they just have been indoctrinated that Trump is unacceptable.

There is a war for the republican party, just like there was when Goldwater and Reagan ran. The people who are hysterically against trump sound exactly like the people who opposed them. They represent the liberal, country club wing of the republican party, and they see a big loss by Trump as their chance to take control again. Conversely, they see a win by trump as dooming them to at best irrelevancy. Given Trump's nature, he is likely to come after their seats as well.

  4. Oh, so they were ISIS when the rebels were supported? Wow, that is bad. I mean she knew they were going to become ISIS and yet she personally armed them anyway. That's it, I voting for Trump.

I hope Trump starts up with EW again. She will bury him and put him in a political coffin.

His kids should be judged on their own merits. That they are supporting him will scar them, but it should not be a scarlet letter for the rest of their life.

Let them make their mistake. Then let them grow. I state it again, judge them on their own merit. Other than supporting their father which is almost impossible not to, they have done ZERO wrong.
