Now that the Michigan GOP primary is over, let's catch up with the latest from the state GOP cuckoo fringe. Judge bars Kristina Karamo from calling herself Michigan Republican Party chair https://www.freep.com/story/news/po...-michigan-republican-party-chair/72748487007/ A Kent County judge on Tuesday issued a preliminary injunction against Kristina Karamo, barring her from identifying herself as chair of the Michigan Republican Party or from accessing any party bank accounts or postal boxes. The ruling by Judge Joseph Rossi is a huge victory for anti-Karamo forces in the Michigan GOP and for Pete Hoekstra, the former ambassador and congressman who was elected to replace Karamo Jan. 20 after a breakoff section of the party's state committee voted to remove her at a meeting Jan. 6. Having two different people claiming to be MIGOP chair "created an environment filled with something the law hates — uncertainty and confusion," the judge said. Karamo, who was in the courtroom in Grand Rapids for the late afternoon ruling, described it as "egregious," but said she will abide by it, pending a possible appeal and a trial in the case that is still scheduled for June. "I have to comply with the judge's order," Karamo said. "I'm not going to jail." The ruling may provide clarity to district chairs and potential candidates to March 2 party conventions where the majority of the party's delegates to the Republican National Convention will be elected. Hoekstra has scheduled a March 2 selection in Grand Rapids. Karamo had scheduled one in Detroit on the same date. Rossi made his ruling retroactive to Jan. 6 and said any actions Karamo has taken since then as state party chair are "void and have no effect." Hoekstra was earlier endorsed in the dispute by both the Republican National Committee and former President Donald Trump. “The MIGOP State Committee, the RNC, President Trump and now a court of law have all reviewed the Jan. 6 meeting and there is unanimous agreement that the former chair was properly removed, and I was elected as the new chairman of the Michigan Republican Party," Hoekstra said in a news release after the ruling. "It is time to unite and move forward with the business (of) delivering the state of Michigan for our party’s presumptive nominee, Donald J. Trump.” But Karamo said outside court that while she would not call herself state party chair, she wasn't prepared to call Hoekstra the chair, either. She said it was too early to say whether she would try to appeal the ruling. Unhappiness with Karamo, who was elected at a state party convention just over a year ago, stemmed in part from lackluster fundraising. She was also accused of autocratic rule that lacked transparency and interference with the business of county parties. Karamo depicted the conflict as one in which the "old guard" or party establishment was fighting her efforts to make meaningful reform and place control in the grassroots. Rossi made his ruling after Tuesday testimony in which officials supporting Karamo as chair of the party detailed their reasons why they consider her removal by a breakaway faction of the state committee to be unlawful. Rossi heard from Michigan Republican Party Secretary Angela Gillisse, Treasurer Jennifer Standerfer and William Hartman, the party's general counsel under Karamo. They identified multiple issues with the way a Jan. 6 meeting to remove Karamo was convened and conducted. But Rossi said none of the flaws invalidated the actions taken against Karamo, which he said included "sharp-elbow tactics." He said he expects the anti-Karamo forces will prevail if the case gets to trial and noted that an expert on parliamentary procedure had testified that the removal was proper.
‘Shortage of cash flow’: Arizona GOP admits financial disaster https://www.rawstory.com/arizona-republican-party-news/ The troubled Republican Party of Arizona is coming clean about its disastrous finances. Party officials acknowledged having “a shortage of cash-flow and donations up until the end of 2023,” according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission this week that Raw Story reviewed. The Arizona GOP also told federal regulators that “rent for multiple months of 2023” wasn’t paid until January of this year. The admissions follow the FEC questioning the Arizona GOP about its finances in a letter last month. The FEC asked about the committee’s administrative, salary and insurance expenses as reported in mandated federal filings from October, November and December. The back-and-forth between the Arizona GOP and FEC underscore the party’s broader turmoil in the midst of an election year where Arizona is a presidential swing state — with Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump equally primed to win. The Arizona GOP voted last month to sell the $1.9 million Phoenix headquarters it bought nine months ago. Meanwhile, in January, Jeff DeWit resigned as chair after a secret audio recording leaked of him appearing to offer a bribe for fervent Trump backer and U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake to leave the race. Lake has been mentioned as a potential pick by Trump to be his vice presidential running mate. Kelli Ward, DeWit’s predecessor, spent money lavishly and, some said, foolishly during her time as chair. Gina Swoboda, the current chair, was an organizer of the 2020 Trump campaign in Arizona who promoted major discrepancies in voting that were later proven false. She is tasked with getting the committee back on track in what could be a pivotal state in this year’s presidential election. In its response to the FEC this week, the Arizona GOP said staff salaries weren’t included in the federal filings in question because nobody spent more than 25 percent of their time on federal elections — as opposed to state races, which the FEC does not regulate. Money, including the “shortage of cash flow” mentioned in the FEC filing, left the Arizona GOP trailing the Democrats by a large margin in fundraising last year. In March, however, Swoboda, told television station KPHO, “The fundraising’s going well. I have no concerns.” Asked by KPHO about the committee’s first-quarter FEC report, which will be made public soon and will show specific fundraising numbers, Swoboda said, “You’re gonna have to wait and see.” (Article has PDF of report)
Even Donald Trump Doesn’t Know What He Created in the MAGA Swamps of Michigan https://slate.com/news-and-politics...-news-republicans-maga-election-michigan.html
When RINOs do not get supported by average Americans, that is a very good thing. Maybe, they will move to the Democrat Party where they belong. Besides, a lot these RINOs are actually, Democrats running as Republicans until they get into office. Then, their true colors come out. Remember Arlen Specter, Lincoln Chaffee, Charlie Crist? There are more RINOs in the Republican Party than true conservatives. They form the majority in the Republican Party. That is why Republicans never get anything good done. They march to the same drums of the extreme liberal Democrats and go along with anything they pass. It is a corrupt UniParty after all. They have moved to destroyed the US from within, all these decades and US voters continue to vote for them.
...The problem, in short, is that the MAGA activists in charge are eating each other alive. States in which old-guard “establishment” Republicans were run off—seemingly paving the way for unified efforts on behalf of Trump—are instead beset by resignations, lawsuits, and financial crises. Conflicts are ongoing in Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, and Georgia as well as Michigan, and are tearing apart smaller chapters at even more local levels... The above is an understatement. Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan are the states that Trump is "physically scared" of the most about the MAGA activists because he knows they can turn on him in the blink of an eye. They have a strong cult following of Christian Conspiracy Theorists and they will expect Trump to be more outspoken publicly in condemning the college protests because they're Israel's strongest supporters. To them, it's a holy war. Next, if the college protests continue and a Republican wins the 2024 Presidential Elections...expect them to put their foot down hard on Muslims, Protestors, and Hamas supporters by doing things like removing the Federal Education Aid from the Universities, stopping the big tax breaks, more police presence on campus, and publicly naming the protestors to encourage corporate America from hiring them when they graduate...a silence of their voices... https://www.highereddive.com/news/h...e-funding-tax-breaks-student-protests/714903/ Trump will be very weary if he does not do what they say because he knows they can hurt him at the ballot in November. As I stated before, outside agitators do not give a fuck about Trump or any other presidential candidate and many follow the influence of others that are not even in the political race for President. The man who lit himself on fire (Max Azzarello) at the Trump trial had issues with both Democrats and Republicans while being from Florida and college-educated from the University of North Carolina... There are many more Max's as ticking time bombs among those MAGA (conspiracy theorist Christians) in Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan ready to bring hell to America, Democracy, and the U.S. Constitution. I would not be surprised if Trump has the most security protection at rallies in the above states...he's afraid of what he created in those states. 2020 chaos will be a joke in comparison to what could happen in 2024-2025 if MAGA has its way with a foot into the Oval Office and on the throats of America if Israel and Hamas are still being idiots in trying to wipe each other out. wrbtrader
Trump-appointed judges say they’ll boycott Columbia grads over university’s handling of protests New York CNN — A group of 13 conservative US federal judges are vowing to not hire Columbia University law students or undergraduates because of how the school has handled pro-Palestinian demonstrations on its campus in recent weeks. The judges sent a letter to Columbia President Minouche Shafik and the dean of Columbia’s law school Gillian Lester, on Monday, outlining their position and describing the Manhattan campus as “ground zero for the explosion of student disruptions, antisemitism and hatred for diverse viewpoints on campuses across the Nation.” Columbia University has become the epicenter for protests against the war in Gaza which have spread throughout dozens of campuses across the country. Last week, at the request of the university, the New York Police Department was called in to dismantle an encampment that demonstrators had set up on school grounds resulting in hundreds of arrests. Police also cleared protesters who had taken over a building on the campus. “As judges who hire law clerks every year to serve in the federal judiciary, we have lost confidence in Columbia as an institution of higher education. Columbia has instead become an incubator of bigotry. As a result, Columbia has disqualified itself from educating the future leaders of our country,” the letter states... https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/07/business/columbia-protests-federal-judges-boycott/index.html Tom Cotton attacks campus protests, argues police should have gone in 'on the very first day' "We should not have tolerated this for a moment," the Republican said. Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton on Sunday pushed for an even stronger police response to pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses across the country as both arrests and controversy grow around the demonstrations against Israel's military campaign in its war with Hamas in Gaza. Speaking to ABC News "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl, Cotton said school leaders, whom he sought to paint as biased by politics, should have sent in law enforcement "the very first day they set up their tents." "Where were the liberal administrators and liberal politicians sending in the police on the very first day? We should not have tolerated this for a moment," he said. In recent weeks, student encampments protesting the war in Gaza and the civilian death toll there have sprung up on campuses from coast to coast. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/tom...protests-argues-police-day/story?id=109928210 wrbtrader
Sadly most of these legal graduates have nothing to do with the protests. These Trumpy judges are punishing the innocent.
I do know some universities like Columbia are identifying those students harassing and threatening other students... Trump-appointed judges will most likely start first with that list of expelled law students that were identified by the university instead of another law student who never went on to campus during the protest. Another reality, many upper-class students including law students do not live on campus, especially at schools like Columbia. They live in a nearby apartment or condo. They most likely stayed home or went to a nearby cafe shop to talk to friends who were on campus protesting for or against Israel. My point, I doubt they're going to punish anyone who was not there or was nearby watching how it unfolded. Regardless, that's not the point, the point is that too many naive people believe this is over with...it's only going to get worst when reality sets in when MAGA gets their foot into the Oval Office if Israel / Hamas War has not been resolved...I won't hold my breadth for that considering this bullshit of killing each other has been occurring for many decades and will continue for many more decades between these two idiotic countries. wrbtrader
It's not the dead voters. The problem is actually the dead Republican candidates. 'No one knew she was dead': GOP primary winner reportedly died 2 months ago https://www.rawstory.com/no-one-knew-she-was-gop-primary-winner-reportedly-died-2-months-ago/ A projected Indiana Republican primary winner died two months ago, according to Wednesday reports. Per the Colorado Gazette, 59-year-old Jennifer Pace died "suddenly in early March, according to reporting from the IndyStar and WIBC Indianapolis, and had previously run for the nomination in 2022, earning 12% of the vote." The state's primary elections were held Tuesday, May 7, Newsweek reports. Pace was nominated to run against Democratic incumbent André Carson for control of Indiana's 7th Congressional District in November. "No one knew she was dead. Last week I researched the candidates online. I read their websites and questionnaire responses. I googled them. No mention of her death. No obituaries," a social media user who lives in the district wrote, according to the Gazette. "Given her responses I strongly considered voting for her. Local media failed again." Indiana Republican Party Press Secretary and Digital Director Griffin Reid provided a statement to the Gazette on Pace's death, saying, "It is our understanding that that is accurate." When asked about whether the state GOP knows the cause of her passing, Reid replied, "We do not." Newsweek notes, "The seat is unlikely to become competitive in November, as the district comprises Democratic-leaning Indianapolis."
