Why Taxes Aren’t as High as They Seem
WASHINGTON — When people heard that Mitt Romney’s federal income tax rate was about 15 percent, the immediate reaction of many was to assume that their own rate was higher. The top marginal rate is 35 percent, after all, and the marginal rate on a couple with $70,000 in taxable income is 25 percent.
The truth is that most households probably pay a lower rate than Mr. Romney. It is impossible to know for sure, given that he has yet to release his tax return. What is clear, though, is that a large majority of American households — about two out of three — pays less than 15 percent of income to the federal government, through either income taxes or payroll taxes.

IF we had a revenue problem we could eliminate deductions for starters.

Of course we don't have a revenue problem, we have a runaway congressional spending problem. Higher taxes isn't going to fix the spending. Only allow for even more of it.

    Just as I implied.
Socialists like free thinker, like to pretend they are reasonable.
Its the incremental creep of govt spending and taxing which destroys.

As someone pointed out... it was argued
Income tax would never get above a couple of percent and
Social security was just an emergency type stop gap.

  5. "incremental creep of govt taxing"

what creep. effective tax rates are at historic lows. you are probably as misinformed about tax law as poster after poster have demonstrated you are about other things.
what do you think the federal tax is on $100k income?

I love how the left tries to make the ridiculous claim that the right wing has gotten "extreme" all because for the first time in the last century, there is legitimate talks about cutting back on the size of the government, instead of a bunch of so called "right wingers" giving lip service to the concept of small government just to get elected.......

You want to talk about "extremism?" What most people should find "extreme," is the government spending 2 dollars for every 1 it takes in.....Thats beyond "extreme", its fucking insane.....

Have a look at AAA's stuff. "Chilling", "odious", "radical Marxist". To be fair, it's insane only if he actually believes it, otherwise... just goofy.

With all due rerspect, losing to Lyndon Johnson seemed to make him bitter, and intensify/rebel against Bible preachers.

JPFO[Jews for Possession of firearms ownership,]NRA[National Rifle Assoc] they dont like compromise either.

Matter of fact JPFO doesnt like even the little compromises the NRA has done:D

    As AAA said ''those bastard voters'':D Its lot just the Christians;
