GOP Hopefuls Losing Ground to Obama Among Latinos

  1. Reagan -Granted amnesty

    Bush-tried to grant amnesty

The 2008s GOP nominee - tried to grant amnesty

Powerful GOP Senators Jon Kyl(Republican from Arizona),John Cornyn (Republican from Texas),Arlen Specter (Republican at the time from PA),and Lindsey Graham (Republican from SC ) led the fight for the amnesty bills passage

Yes some republicans voted against it after a mass of angry calls from their constituents but I disagree with labeling the democratic party the party of amnesty when every time a republican makes it to the white house they try to pass amnesty

Once this issue of illegals is cleared up and politically settled most of the values of Latinos are conservative.
Amnesty is abut the only issue that is leaning Latinos toward the Democrats.
This is why the Republican should build the fence and let the 11 million illegals stay as long as they have a job.

Otherwise the Latinos are church going, family centric, hard working people, just like republicans.

I'll say it again -- in the the general election the presidential candidates always favor amnesty. (That's why I predict a surprise victory by Gingrich.) But if you look at the parties overall, almost the only people willing to enforce immigration law are on the Republican side. Of course there are plenty of businesses wanting cheap, compliant labor so that makes some Republicans sympathetic to illegal immigration.

    Obama Administration Sets Deportation Record

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration set a new record for deportations, removing nearly 400,000 undocumented immigrants in the last fiscal year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced on Tuesday.

The agency removed 396,906 undocumented immigrants from the United States in the 2011 fiscal year, a slight increase from the previous year's 392,826 removals. Administration officials said the increase is the result of a continued focus on policing undocumented immigration, a rebuttal to claims by GOP presidential candidates and others who say the president has been too soft on unauthorized immigration.

Former President George W. Bush deported about 30,000 fewer undocumented immigrants -- 369,221 -- in his final year in office. [/B]

I think you mis understand the the politics.
The democrats cobble together minorities, gays, radicals, handout takers and those who get their vote.

Soon that last group will shrink and so will democrats because the economy will change.

The country identifies as mostly conservative and independent. Not radicals and govt suckers.

No matter who is President the US deport anywhere from 300,000 to 450,000 illegals a year.

This the reality on the ground.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary_city
Cities in the United States began designating themselves as sanctuary cities during the 1980s.[1] The policy was first initiated in 1979 in Los Angeles, to prevent police from inquiring about the immigration status of arrestees. The internal policy, "Special Order 40," states: "Officers shall not initiate police action with the objective of discovering the alien status of a person. Officers shall not arrest nor book persons for violation of title 8, section 1325 of the United States Immigration code (Illegal Entry).[2]" Some of the 31 American cities are Washington, D.C.; New York City (see also Illegal immigration in New York City); Los Angeles; Chicago; San Francisco; Santa Ana; San Diego; San Jose; Salt Lake City; Dallas; Houston; Austin; Detroit; Jersey City; Minneapolis; Miami; Denver; Baltimore; Seattle; Portland; New Haven; Somerville, Cambridge and Portland, Maine. These cities have adopted "sanctuary" ordinances banning city employees and police officers from asking people about their immigration status.

A 2011 poll found that 59% supported Rep. Lou Barletta’s proposal to remove federal funding to sanctuary cities. 58% wanted the Justice Department to take actions against such cities

  9. The right is so fond of saying this, but no one has answered the question of why the liberals control everything. If conservatives are so called smarter, and in the majority, what the heck happened?
