No, I think you'll vote for Harry Browne for the legalization of drugs. LOL. You are just pretending you don't have any other choice.

  2. Druggies like me essentially already live in a police state. You think the power hungry forces in Washington will stop there?
They'll come for you too, no matter how cleanly you live your life.
They don't actually care about drugs, and certainly not about my personal health- drug prohibition is just a tool to get leverage over honest people like myself who would never commit any real crimes.

They'll keep passing all sorts of prohibition laws and regulations until we're all right where they want us- under the boot of the mighty all-powerful government.

    From Atlas Shrugged:

Dr. Ferris smiled. . . . . ."We've waited a long time to get something on you. You honest men are such a problem and such a headache. But we knew you'd slip sooner or later - and this is just what we wanted."

"You seem to be pleased about it."

"Don't I have good reason to be?"

"But, after all, I did break one of your laws."

"Well, what do you think they're for?"

Dr. Ferris did not notice the sudden look on Rearden's face, the look of a man hit by the first vision of that which he had sought to see. Dr. Ferris was past the stage of seeing; he was intent upon delivering the last blows to an animal caught in a trap.

"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

Well, the one thing I can say for certain, if you put a democrat in office, they'll just keep making government bigger and increase regulation. The more regulation, the more government jobs. I hope after Bush gets re-elected he does some house cleaning and get back to the conservative tradition of smaller government and a more hands off approach.

  4. You're dreaming, we lose either way. Bush has out-liberaled the liberals and will continue to spend like a drunken sailor, while doing lines off his desk. Then he'll go and imprison the euntrpeneurs who worked so hard to import his blow.

Both major parties are now rotten to the core.

    Now Orwell:

"Comrades!" [Squealer the pig] cried. "You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a privilege of selfishness and privilege. Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole managment and organisation of the farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we failed in our duty? Jones would come back! Yes, Jones would come back! Surely, comrades," cried Squealer almost pleadingly, skipping from side to side and whisking his tail, "surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back?"

  9. This is not what I signed up for.

SERIOULSY.... bumya is a scary fuckup.

WASHINGTON — To conservatives, it was a shocking scene.

President Bush sat chatting chummily in the Oval Office with the premier of communist China and harshly rebuked the democratically elected leader of America’s old friend and ally, Taiwan.

"The only word I can use is ‘appalled,’ " said John Tkacik, a China specialist at the Heritage Foundation and a staunch administration supporter. "The spectacle of the American president who just gave such an eloquent speech in Whitehall barely three weeks ago, saying the global expansion of democracy is a pillar of American foreign policy."

  10. Quote from Maverick,

"Well, the one thing I can say for certain, if you put a democrat in office, they'll just keep making government bigger and increase regulation. The more regulation, the more government jobs. I hope after Bush gets re-elected he does some house cleaning and get back to the conservative tradition of smaller government and a more hands off approach."

Maverick, who are you trying to kid?
The Bush Administration is the epitome of BIG GOVERNMENT!

Rearden Metal is exactly right when he states that Bush "has out-liberated the liberals and will continue to spend like a drunken sailor, while doing lines off his desk."

Bottmline: Bush and his Administration has shown absolutely NO signs of fiscal responsibility whatsoever!"
