Excuse me Martin, I did not know I was required to post journal entries. I am not an analyst for GOOG. That's not my job. I have stated on several threads on ET my liking of GOOG. I like the company. As for where the stock goes from day to day, who cares. The stock took a 12% hit, big deal.

My guess is it will make fresh new highs by the summer. Take a look at AAPL. I also love that stock. It took a hit as well from 86.60 down to 70. Is that stock done too? LOL. Give me a break. AAPL will be back at the highs in 3 months or less. My feelings about GOOG as a company have not changed.

You know, GOOG did have a bad report last year as well and they took a decent hit. It took all of 3 weeks for it to come back and make new highs. Surely you are not new to this game and you have seen this 100's of times. This is nothing new. It's a high beta stock with very high expectations. It will take huge hits on any kind of negative press. That is the price you pay for beta.

Here is what you do. Start with "Fundamentals of the Options Markets" by Mike Williams and Amy Hoffman. Then go on to "Option Volatility and Pricing" by Sheldon Natenburg. Then read "Option Market Making" by Jan Allen Baird. Then finish with Cottle. Read those books in that order given. Good luck!

  6. for what it is worth i sold the 440 call / 430 put strangle @ 48.30 at around 2:50 pm cst...

i just hope all of are wrong and it drifts above 400 by feb expiration...

i just couldn't help myself...a range of 382 to 488 to break even... figured it might move 10% up or down but not this...however time is on my side...

let's see how far they shove it up or down my personal parts

I expect GOOG to close above 400 tomorrow. I will be selling Feb 430 calls. I do not believe they can put Humpty Dumpty back on the wall before the expiry.
