Are they overpaying or what? http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/Story.aspx?guid={05306ED9-F56E-467C-BBA3-AFD9EB7335F8}&siteid=
they are overpaying big time. I think it was a foolish move. Suprised to see google make this move. I think the hype in this area is just about done, it reminds me of the .com names selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars back 8 years ago..
i think utube will be around for some time to come and it is already well inbedded in the internet culture. only prob is that i cannot see how it can have a value of 1.7bln. wouldn't have paid more than half a bln.
Heck, it's free to Google, they have tons of stock left to buy more. The executives probably cashed out tons of money already. Maybe some of them sit on the board of YouTUBE. Dejavu here. Only the Google investors gets hurt, if they bought in late /
I think they could of got it a lot cheaper but that does not mean it wont be a good business that makes money for the value they paid. I feel when you have so much money you donât worry about paying the right price if it fits your plan.
