Google has decided to lift the ban on crypto advertising that was put early in the spring of 2018 due to the concerns about crypto fraudsters attracting vulnerable clients. The new policy will launch in US and Japan in October and in the words of the company itself, “advertisers will need to be certified with Google for the specific country in which they will advertise. Appliance for certification will be possible as of the new policy launch”. “This policy will apply globally to all accounts that advertise these financial products,” the statement from Google further states.

  2. Interesting. There is so much money in these ads and they decided to give it up? A bit not like google :)

Cryptos are getting ever more popular, and a lot of people want in on them, so it's so surprising, I guess.

  4. So basically ICO's will still have a hard time putting ads out there. This ain't good news for the industry, because it's not like it would have been hard for them to filter out ICO's that are obvious scams.

They're relaxing the ban, perhaps over time they'll relax it further.

  6. Great Decision by Google but what do you mean by "certified with Google"
