Google launchs domestic trends analytics

    The premise for coming up with this tool is that changes in search volume of a given sector on Google.com may be useful for financial analysts and investors to know which among these sectors are actively searched by consumers.
     
  2. There have been years of development relating to text/blog/news information relationships. Lots of research already done in this area.

    Some of the older work is discussed in the layman's book, "Nerds on Wall Street."

  4. Hedge funds that engage in high frequncy trading can modify their algorithms in order to create a bogus "view count" on other websites in order to manipulate that Google-App. :D
