I was reading your text until you said "this site". This site (the crytpo section) is exactly why we are entitled to shitpost, because the level is too low. There is no way that someone can come here to learn anything about crypto, it is all propaganda and copies from other site's articles. So you get replies according to the level that is set.
One's ability to learn is directly proportional to how open their minds are. The lowest common denominator of shitposting occurs everywhere - from CT, to paid alpha groups, youtube, various forums and social media, etc. As for this site, there is pure gold in some of the older threads. You can't find the depth of experience on newer sites. Many say the markets have changed, yet here we are ruled by the same primal human emotions.
I am sure that in those old posts people did not see themselves sending any sarcastic comment, but if you go and copy an entire text from other website just to say "you can pay now at petrol stations with crypto", you can see then the little effort that OP has made to create the article, so shitpots are guaranteed.
A valid criticism. Sometimes those posts can generate good discussion. I appreciate them as a newsfeed. edit: while we might disagree on what shitposting is, it's the summer doldrums, best time for shitposting!
Ok, the OP in this thread posted an article indicating that the most powerful tech company in existence just made a $1.5 billion investment in various blockchain companies over the past nine months. It was also mentioned that two major financial institutions poured in $2 billion as well. And your response was: So let me ask you. Which of the two posts above do you really think is setting the level for this forum "too low"?
Try to convince the computer scientist interviewee in this article: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...l-cryptocurrency-should-die-in-a-fire.369172/
But...but...when was the last time we hear about crypto being used other than a "get-rich-quick scheme"?
This site is pretty good I would say. I used to argue with @johnarb all the time when I had so much FUD still in my head. I wish I listened to him sooner. You can ignore crypto all you want, but one day you will have no choice but to embrace it.
