Google bans ZeroHedge and the Federalist from ad revenue for racebaiting

MSM has been going hard after lefty outlets on youtube, this is nothing new. They got the money to buy the guys that write the bills. Honestly can't be bothered to read the rest of the article or tweets of people who only read the headline, doesn't matter what influenced google, it's their show. Those aggrieved should just #LearnToCode. Ok, read after having skimmed it; still a bunch of conjecture. Here's the meat of it all:

In addition, it appeared it was NBC News' inquiry into the matter that prompted Google's actions in the first place.

"Google's ban of the websites comes after the company was notified of research conducted by the Center for Countering Digital Hate, a British nonprofit that combats online hate and misinformation. They found that 10 U.S-based websites have published what they say are racist articles about the protests, and projected that the websites would make millions of dollars through Google Ads," NBC News reported.

The report continued, "Google blocked The Federalist from its advertising platform after the NBC News Verification Unit brought the project to its attention. ZeroHedge had already been demonetized prior to NBC News’ inquiry, Google said."

NBC News' Adele-Momoko Fraser, the London-based journalist behind the report, appeared to celebrate the results of her reporting by thanking the two groups "for their hard work and collaboration." She also used the Black Lives Matter hashtag.

cliffnotes: Snitches get stitches and your reporter shouldn't support a movement lest she be branded as not impartial.

Face it, FOX is peddling the latest conspiracy in an effort to spin away from their own shit show:

Fox News removes manipulated images from coverage of Seattle protests

Care to explain how? Is the logic that "my online business requires ad revenue to survive so you can't take it away"?

good luck w/that. This admin can't even decide if internet is a utility

I should explain my view is that it is proper investigative journalism to show how the new exec order will result in unintended consequences for the right as it affects the left. I don't think it's a good idea to just accept it as the new reality and pretend they won't use it against each other indirectly.

The bit about her using the BLM tag needs verifying/context checking. I'd do that and post the result instead of saying it should be done but I want to watch a TV show.

Seemed she removed the hashtag or the post mentioning it is a fake. Not sure how to verify as Machete don't Tweet.

Whe I do know is Zerohedge were already banned and The Federalist have not been demonitized just warned.

Kind of like how you thought people should stop watching/attending the NFL because some of the players offended your political sensibilities.

In US, true. In Europe it's different. There isn't all that much viable competition to Adsense. Remember that it wasn't the content that got them kicked off, it was the comments. That's ridiculous any way you look at it.

it's in essence quite literally what the WH is asking for when trying to make social media publishers and take away 1st amendment protections

Here is the tweet where the "activist" tries to backtrack her position. Read the tweetstorm following this where people just carve her up.

To better understand the moment we are living through, when you see or hear the word racist, swap it with counter-revolutionary.

There is a big difference between individuals not supporting a sports league due to the behavior of the athletes, and having a competitor of the sports league trying to cut off the advertising revenue to the league. This is a parallel in this media situation -- as clearly outlined by the CNN editor.

How would the NFL like if the NHL started a campaign to cut the advertising revenue for football by complaining to advertisers and web advertising content providers that they should not support the NFL. Don't you think the response from the NFL would be to do the same thing back to the NHL.

Once a media outlet crosses the line of attempting to defund another media outlet -- then they just opened an entire arms race across the entire media industry to undermine each over by eliminating the revenue of competitors by any means including hiring hackers to implement DDOS attacks against media outlets and end advertisers.
