G is deleted tonight, so we should get an addition announcement after the close. The S&P will only have 499 stocks on Monday.
Bloomberg story contends that Legg Mason, the largest company in the MidCap S&P 400 tops the list to replace Gillette because it would create less of a stir. In other words, by calling up a company from the S&P 400 into big leagues, the large cap buyers would be offset somewhat from the mid cap sellers (although much, much less money is indexed to the S&P 400.)
i coverd my goog short yesterday cause I wanted to buy the amd breakout instead at 308 (short for 315), I bought puts today with goog at 313, looking for some big downside action first 290 ideally 260
i still remember when the s&p added jnpr jdsu yhoo ect right at the top. they are terrible stockpickers.
