Hey guys! I came in today! I don't know what it was yesterday but it passed. Hopefully I won't have to worry about that again. Well, I'm a little late so I need to get to my routine. Good Trading!
You might want to check out the Dons openings threads. Something you might be able to incorporate into your trading.
Horrible day.... I lost $177 and spent $75 losing it. NT and LU aren't in play so far this week. I'm getting hammered!!! I decided to leave early today. Today was the worst trading day I've had yet. EVERY SINGLE TRADE was a losing trade today. Every single one! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME? To be honest, I've hit a sump of some sort and I just can't have a winning streak. I'm undisciplined, unfocused, impatient, and incompetent. I had 12 buy executions, 14 sell executions, and 32,000 shares traded. Tomorrow will be a better day!
Let me ask you an honest question... Since you started this thread and put on your first trade how much total $ did you spend in commisions. And what is your net p&l to date? Your answer should explain as why you should get a real job bro. Who is really making the $ here? Do you honestly think you can support a family with this type of lifestyle? -Mike
What I pay in commissions is simply the cost of business. I've been trading for 5 months and have taken a check home 3 out of those 5. The two I didn't take home a check for were my first two months. So I know I can do better. Family? Who said I have a family to support? Perhaps your post came across the wrong way with me. But if you were trying to put me down then please never post in my journal again. If you weren't trying to put me down then thank you for your advice. But I would appreciate it if in the future, you didn't doubt me. There is nothing I can't do. I will trade for a living and be good at it. Trend Fader, just so that you know, I did ask myself those questions. Here are the answers: Fills - 4759 Shares - 9,422,556 Gross P/L - $14,522.19 Comm - $8,276.00 Fees - $2,250.91 SEC Fee - $544.75 TAF - $471.13 NET - $2,979.40 You see, when I look at these numbers, I don't think of more questions. I draw a conclusion from these numbers. These numbers simply mean that I need to get better. I don't give up in the face of "defeat." I learn from my mistakes and move to the next level. Does anybody here think that these numbers are horrible for someone who has been trading for 5 months?? Good Luck
This guy trend fader is a moron and obviously does not trade for a living! How many traders are not only gross positive but net positive after only a few months? It is pretty much unheard of. Goodpunk, don't let this idiot bring you down! You are ahead of the learning curve. It takes time to make "real money" in this business.
Hi Goodpunk, Great job so far. I wasn't anywhere near (in terms of PL - I was in the neg terrirtory for over a year) to where you are at now. So after 5 months so you are doing really well and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Consider this though, you are keeping 20.5% of your gross profit. This seems too small IMO. One way you can improve this ratio directly is by changing your style (volume x frequency) - I'm not saying you should do that since your are succesful, but it should be something to consider and definetly something to discuss with your firm.
