GoodPunk6, You should seriously analyze what you are doing when in "come-back mode"as opposed to regular mode. It might make your more profitable. -Neo
High frequency trading limits your profits but not your expenses. At your rate, you'll make 10k a year and spend 40k making it. You might want to trade less and ride winners longer, thereby limits losses and expenses, not profits.
I've noticed that I'm far more focused when I'm in "come-back mode." I develop a mentality that I need to make the money back. I need to dig myself out of a hole. So I become so focused that time seems to slip away from me. This is exactly how I need to trade in the future. Unfortunately, I lack the discipline to do so. This is my goal as a trader. To be this focused and disciplined.
Good morning! Well, after a day like yesterday, I don't think that it can get any worse (I know, I know.....It sounds like I'm setting myself up for disaster). A fellow trader who's been trading for 9 years gave me some solid advice today. In fact its something, that we should all do. STUDY! The more you study the market the more knowledgeable you are. Good advice indeed. Good Trading!
Hey Goodpunk, I've been following your journal for a while now. It's been very cool to follow your ups and downs. I'll be graduating this may from Baruch College, and have been paper trading using reuters for about 4 years now. I'm thinking about joining HLV. Since you were a stockbroker you already had your licenses, but would HLV sponsper me? Would I be able to trade with firm capital before I passed the exams. I know they have the $5000 minimum contribution where you don't need the licenses, but I'd like to trade firm capital. Thanks and keep up the great journal? Also, can you let me know when they're having an open house?
HLV Capital is a private equity group so licenses are not required. Although, if you have them, the firm would be more than willing to hold them for you after 6 months of trading. You can trade firm capital after taking a one week training class. I am a team leader and am looking to hire new traders. There is a training class beginning at the end of March. If you would like to be considered for the position, send me your resume. If you have any other questions regarding the position or HLV Capital feel free to PM me at any time. Manny
Some of you might be wondering why I didn't post an entry on Friday. That's because we had a network problem in the morning and I decided to go home. Whatever.... Well, this morning I'm concentrated, motivated, and ready to trade! I hope everyone has a GREAT trading day!
unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the trading day. I began feeling sick after lunch today. So much so that I had to leave. I felt so light headed that I almost passed out in the bathroom. I have never felt concerned about my personal health until today. I don't know what it was but even as I type this now I still feel a little fucked up. I feel so sick....... I don't know if I'll be in tomorrow. If I'm not, I wish everyone a good trading day!
