  1. Thanks for the info guys!

Well, today wasn't that bad. I gotta say that I think I've reevaluated myself and my ability to trade. I know that I lost so much money recently because I was overconfident. I've since then beaten my own confidence down so, I think I have a better grasp on my ability.

I made $130.34 and spent ABOUT $100 making it. I say ABOUT because ECNs changed their commissions this month and I haven't really figured it out. Soon I'm going to start posting the bottom line of my report the day after my journal entry.

I have 16 buy executions, 16 sell executions, and traded 84,668 shares.

At least I walked away with a small profit.....ahhh....yes.....profit. ;-) It's my first day net positive since last Thurdsday, when I lost $355 (that includes commissions). Since then my account went from positive $327.13 to (as of yesterday) negative $139.78. To be honest, I don't even know if I'm net positive because of these new ECN fees. I guess I'll know tomorrow.

    Pray for me guys!

Regarding beating yourself up for anything at all, I learned something while shooting baskets for exercise over a period of a few years. I learned to, after every shot, think about what I did right. It helped a lot, that way you never think much about what you did wrong and you are always sending positive messages to your unconscious mind. If you keep sending a lot of mixed messages some part of you will get the message that you want things done wrong and you will experience wierd times when you just do things wrongly and have no clue why.

My daughter was on the golf team at her school and she loved it but she was terrible at it and she was always beating herself up, I taught her about the mental side of the game and in a short time she was doing better and was an asset to the team.

I hope this helps, it is very easy to learn to do and it seems like it would apply to your work.

  3. maxpi,

thanks for the advice. I'm going to try that today and everyday from here on out. I think that my biggest hurdle is my mental state and I'm sure that your advice will be a great help.

Well gentlemen, it is SSSSOOO cold out today. It was 21 degrees when I left my house this morning. New York City sucks ass when its this cold. And just to think that this is only the beginning.

Nortel has some news on it today. Preliminary reports show that they will post a loss of 6 cents per share for the third quarter of 2004. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/041214/nortel_outlook_3.html
Hopefully this will add some heavy volume and volitility today.

Well, I feel motivated. Hopefully, today will be a good day!

    Good Trading!

  4. Hey guys!!

I needed a day like today!!! I made $355.10 and I spent ABOUT $250 making it. I know I didn't walk away with much, but this morning I was down......REALLY down. After a rough lunch, and a small argument with a fellow trader, I managed to get in "the zone" and trade with a clear mind.

Maxpi, your technique worked. I concentrated on everything I did right and followed through. I reminded myself that I CAN trade. Now I need to do it over again. Thanks

I had 32 buy executions, 40 sell executions and traded, and traded 194,200 shares. Overall, it wasn't a bad day.

  7. Hey guys!!!

Wow! Today was my best day NET!! I made $390.25 and spent $110 making it. I need to trade like the way I did today, everyday!!! I'm really happy that I did this well. I was disciplined, I traded only when I saw an edge, and I barely said anything to anybody all day long. I really needed days like yesterday and today. My confidence was a little beaten down last week, but after today, I feel better.

I had 18 buy executions, 14 sell executions, and traded 90,650 shares.

    Thanks a lot guys!

  8. hey guys!

I noticed something this morning as I was traveling into NYC. As it gets colder, more people drive. I noticed this because it took 20 minutes for the bus that I was on to travel 1 block. I hate traffic!

Either way, I feel good, motivated, and concentrated. I hope everyone does well today! Good trading!

  9. Hey guys

It's after the market close and I'm writing this from home. I left early because today wasn't my day. By 1pm today, my P&L was $0. I spent about $30 making it! I had 4 flats today!!! I've never had a day like today, I just couldn't decide what side of the market to be on, and so I found myself cancelling my bids and offers. Then I would suddenly get filled on a huge market order and scramble to take a flat. Whatever.....at least I didn't lose any money!

    Have a good weekend!
