Goodbye to rip-off Britain

  1. Yeah, you're right, we're always going around "invading" - such as leading the "invasion" of Europe in 1944: maybe we should have passed on that one.

  2. http://www.americanpassport.com/ForeignEntryRequirements.html

    According to the above site...

UNITED KINGDOM (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) - *Passport required. Visa not required for stay of up to 6 months. For additional information, consult the nearest visa-issuing Consulate General: CA (310/481-2900), IL (312/970-3800), or NY (212/745-0200). Internet: www.britainusa.com/embassy

It looks like one can stay in the UK for 6 months without a visa. Do you know if that has changed?

I am sure that all the people who were killed while the USA sat on the sidelines ( and was only forced into the war by Churchill) will be shouting their thanks from the otherside.

But hey, carry on singing that old song; it makes up for all the other fkups your country creates.

  4. It was Stalin´s actions that made it clear to US to enter the WW2 in europe.

The allied invasion of Europe was a race to Berlin against the Russians.

Imho can be debated ad infinitum

My point is that taking things into account like how long the US took to come to the party, the strong Isolationist lobby, the lend lease etc. into account exposes the fallacy that the US was this great benevolent power rising up against a tyrant which a lot of Americans always use to try to deflect any criticism.

Presumably you have read the book Stalingrad? Epic huh

Don't you see this comment as a "I want it both ways" view? After all, it wasn't OUR party to come to initially.

  7. Read both Berlin and Stalingrad, both enormously powerful books.

Sorry with Germany’s track record and proven intentions I don’t think that there is any way you could argue that everything Germany stood for went 100% against what America stood for and what America should have been defending.

Anyway, I do not want to hijack this thread further so back to how rip off Britain.

    1. Germany hadn't invaded nor declared war on the US, initially.

    2. We weren't "policeman to the world" then as we are now... that in itself has its own tragic consequences.

  10. Germany was not your major problem, Russia was.

The thinking that communism was a threat to US sent your tourists off to Korea and Vietnam and it was the driver behind your war in Europe.
