9:00-20:00 (9 AM-8 PM) is European Time (Paris). That is 3 AM-2 PM US Eastern Time. There is less liquidity after 17:30 (5:30 PM) because markets are closed.
Thats 9:00 am to 8:00 pm CET 3:00 am to 2:00 pm EST. 11 hours total. Estxx50 is most liquid from 3 am EST to 6 am EST and from 9:30 am EST ( US market open ) to 11:30 am EST I don't know if estxx is less choppy than S&P Emini... And one more thing: trading starts at about 3:05 - 3:08 am EST, not right after 3:00:00
I could give this instrument a try, I am getting sick of the eminis, ES has gotten very volatile these days often moving 2 points in one minute too much for my account, NQ is slow and retraces too much , I have a hard time to catch more than 3-4 NQ points without going through big nerve wracking retracements. Can somebody post a 1 and 3 min. chart of eurostoxx 50 ? What's your experience with Sierra Charts and IB data feed, this seems like a cheap and good combination? Is it easy to set up? Thanks.
this example looks really nice. how much do you pay for charts and data monthly? which broker? where do you get the times for economic reports in europe? do single earnings reports of those 50 companies have any considerable influence?
That was this morning's action, I use e-signal and ensign, about $150 month, broker is IB. For economic reports it's best to look at the calenders of major financial newspapers like Financial Times. Influence of single company reports isn't any different from major US-companies, sometimes it moves the market, sometimes it doesn't. Guidance by tech companies like Nokia or Siemens tends to have a bigger influx, which is rather common, I think.
Another source for news is CNBC-Europe, although I don't watch it any more, because alll that bullish crap started to get on my nerves.
Nice chart indeed, looks much less choppy than eminis. I just lost another 3 points in NQ, made a dime on the Q's buying just before Michigan Index but it didn't make up for the NQ loss.
Hmm. I see we can't quote a chart. No biggie... I see about a 60 pt. spread from HOD to LOD. How much is each point worth in US dollars?
