Good source for vintage turntable?

  1. Still have a small lp collection, recently received a free turntable which died after 20 minutes of use.
Alas, the bug has bitten. I have a bid on ebay, but I am wary of that site. Any ideas?

Buying used gear is just as perilous in the internet age, as it was in the pre-internet age. You could google "used audio equipment" and find Play It Again Sam (a store in Ohio), Q Audio (next door to MIT), plus four or five websites. Plus Ebay, Craigslist, et al. But it's still used gear and it's still perilous.

Lots of people make and sell NEW turntables. Head down to a big newsstand and buy copies of "$ensible $ound", "Stereophile", "The Absolute Sound" to get some names and ideas. Visit this website: http://www.stereophile.com/equipmentreviews/ for other ideas.

  3. saturdayaudio.com may be a good source for analog/vintage equipment.
