I'm looking for a good remote prop firm with relatively good availability of shares to borrow for shorting.

I plan on depositing and using only my funds.

    I do not use leverage.

My only reason for wanting to join a prop firm instead of one of the big brokers is to be able to trade more than 3 day trades in a 5 day period under the 2001 instated SEC Pattern Day Trader Rule with an account under $25k.

I'm working with around 5 grand and would probably average around 10 day trades a week.

The PDT rule has caused considerable losses for many people. I just want the peace of mind of knowing that I can get in or out whenever I need to to cut my losses or lock in profits.

Thank you in advance for any firm suggestions.

  2. Most prop firms are pretty good, it really depends on what stock you are trying to short and when you are trying to short the stock vs the actual prop shop.

if the stock is hard to borrow a trader can do a "dealer locate" to short it. It mainly the stock then the actual prop firm if you IMO
