This is very true. You can tell who the real winning players are after they have been consistent winners for over 10 years. Today's televised events are filled with players who will not be around 10 years from now. Tournaments manufacture superstars, but the majority of them will fall by the wayside given enough time for the sample size to catch up with them.

I've played for over 15 yrs. and I assure you that if you've seen what I've seen you would agree but like I said before...

Gamblers only see, what they want to see

  6. I couldn't agree more.

...and that's one of the reasons why, if you seat nine gamblers and one shark at a poker table, the shark nearly always emerges a bit richer when the game is done. Getting dealt lousy cards is but a minor obstacle to the highly skilled player.

  7. Before Gold it was Hachem and then Raymer and then Moneymaker...
Moneymaker is the only player there without the skills to be a true pro...Hachem and Raymer are pros..

LUCK??? Is it LUCK that Raymer in 2004 bested a field of 2600 to win the title, and then came in 25th out of 5700 the next year? That's unreal luck, if that's the case..
Is it luck that Phil Hellmuth cashed in 9 tourneys at this year's WSOP....what is he, the luckiest guy in Vegas?

To win a tourney, sometimes you have to get lucky. but again - your luck is the same as mine...that's the one constant variable...

How is your trading NOT gambling, then?

    Reardon,

I think that the media has done a fantastic job of hyping poker as an any mans game and road to riches but it reminds me of the stock market 95-2000.

Very few will keep what they have made, if at all.

    Pohpoh

I lived in Vegas for 3 years and made my living counting cards and playing poker.

I've been trading fulltime for 3 years now ( a student of the markets for 10 yrs.) and I can say with some authority that trading is a far better lifestyle and the skill sets involved to be profitable are truly skill.

Trading is going great thank GOD, thanks for asking .
