These dumbasses don't remember hurricane Andrew, which hit Florida as a Cat 5, and wiped out an entire town. Homestead, anyone? So much panic over nothing. Give it a break, guys.
Ouch... Has anyone seen my recently purchased car? McLaren P1 Flooded and Pulled Through Garage by Hurricane Ian https://www.carvibz.com/supercars/mclaren-p1-flooded-and-pulled-through-garage-by-hurricane-ian/
It requires math to understand the growing energy content of hurricanes, and... wait for it... math is hard!
3-5 days warning minimum that a storm is coming with huge storm surge and this genius leaves his car exposed to it... these are the kind of losses I can tolerate...brings back equilibrium
maybe he needed the payout. Parking a car in a hurricane's path is sure way to get that insurance dough.
LOL.. totally understand. We are land creatures after all. My dock and boat looks fine this morning. I had at least 18 lines with rubber snubbers lashing her down. Bilge looks dry. I had removed all of the sails and furlers, solar panels, wind generator and dinghy and I'm in no rush to put them back up. There will probably be some more action this season. The sound of the wind was impressive but I don't think it exceeded 75 mph here. I've pretty much already cleaned up my property except for the pool which will take a few days. At one point there was a tornado heading this direction about 10 minutes away. I wondered what to do but realized my bedroom is a steel-reinforced concrete room with a 195 mph rated hurricane window with a sliding steel shutter over it and an aluminum clad roof so I just went to sleep. At some point you can't prepare anymore.
Anyone who drives that kind of orange exotic car....is a certifiable ashhole, I don't care if that was the Pope's car, or the Queen's car, or an elementary school teacher's car, or a handicapped person with one leg and one eyeball....they are still a certifiable ashhole if they choose to drive that. I personally could be worth 100 million, and absolutely no one in the world would ever suspect anything. I would still live and look like a middle-class working normal, boring, average, basic, person.
