Rilly? Please point that out to me. Don't see that in the story. For the record, I have one, it has a catalytic converter, which probably means it meets this new standard. House had it when I bought it. It was made in 1986, according to the date carved into it. That would be, oh, 28 years ago. Not exactly new technology. Things change and progress over time, you know. I think three decades is long enough to wait to update the standard on the pollution wood burning stoves produce. As a side effect, it of course puts out way more heat than a regular stove, meaning once I get the fire going I can keep my whole house warm on a small log sitting on a bed of hot coals. That log can last an hour. Very convenient, means I don't have to be tending it all the time.
Forget it, found the EPA's own notice on this. Apparently they've been getting harassed by trolls sent to them from that idiotic News Max article: http://www.epa.gov/burnwise/ordinances.html You're back on ignore. Stupid doesn't begin to describe you.
Well, sit back and do your research. The one article posted isn't going to tell you the thousands of pages of shit the EPA gestapo will hit you square in the face with. Do you have the common sense to believe that this one page article might be just a shade shorter than something the EPA would come up with? Lol! Nice try though. My Step Dad has three inserts, and a free standing (which is awesome), and NONE meet the new standards. ALL are within three years old, as the house is a large, new construction. Btw, no, yours does not meet the new standards just because it has a cat converter. 1986... Yeah. Lol! Again, nice try. Once this thing is set in stone (which it sadly will be thanks to today's nazis), you'll have to remove it before someone takes possession of the home you sold them. Best of luck to you voter.

Stupid doesn't begin to describe you. ========================================================== The state of Oregon already demands by force of law that you remove a non compliant wood burning stove if you sell the home. There may be other states. And attorneys general from seven states are right now suing the epa to try to force the epa to also ban wood burning water heaters that are not in this new type of compliance. I think stupid does begin to describe you, though.
Fhl, don't lose sleep. I've joined a very strong militia recently where I live after much research, and we're doing 'LEGAL' (for now), things that will make these tyrants wish they weren't born... I've found that I'm an old school lib demanding US Constitutional FREEDOM which TODAY'S libs/tyrants DESPISE, which is sadly another story for another day... I PROMISE YOU, however we'll prevail, and these gubment-loving nazis will fall while we break their will... If you only knew what guys like me, and others can come up with to combat this tyranny, you'd sleep a little better tonight... I EARNED MY FREEDOM! I'm ENSURING you don't have to do what I did/see what I saw just so we can be what our Founders intended... Anyhow, sleep well knowing I'll be up at 0530 to train the next generation of leaders in America to fight for FREEDOM just as William Wallace did when he FREED Scotland from Englands KING'S tyranny 700+yrs ago...
