Dollar is down another 7% in a month. Your 5% cd's in the bank are losing value. You had better leverage 2x your net worth to make that trade worthwhile.
In a bad market recession oil goes down gold goes down stocks goes down real estate goes down T-bill return rates goes down. job market goes down. all go down.
whats the difference between a recession and a depression, ie I know recession is 2 quarters of negative GDP.

Gold & oil ripped in the Seventies. The job market wasn't nearly as bad as remembered, either. In the allegedly awful Carter debacle, 10 million net new jobs came on stream during his term. That era was the minicomputer era, when the Route 28 corridor around Boston had all kinds of companies that were at the cutting edge of the time: DEC, Prime, Wang, etc. Don't believe all this bilge you see around here about the US going down, or about old Northeastern cities declining. Won't happen. Pay attention to the markets: there will always be money to be made, somewhere. Right now, gold & oil are ripping. Plus ca change, and all that.
Who is the misinformed person that said Europe has free healthcare ??Healthcare is not free in Europe!!..... people over there pay for their health insurance out there ass in taxes!! Why do you think that avg price for a liter of gas over there is over $4 ? They even pay a tax for getting local TV channels in many European countries!..I have many friends in Europe(and I have lived in Italy, France, Holland, and Switzerland so I know the deal there). ...some have had to wait almost 2 months for a visit to the doctor! ..thats the kind of free healthcare we want here in the U.S.?? NOT !! The sky high taxes you pay in Europe are what PAYS FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE !!.. . Nothing is free in life..NOTHING
recession of course is when your nieghbor loses his job. depression is when you lose yours. trade well Keith
