Ofcourse u should add the exchange fees otherwise they will pay from their pockets , for example the EF for ES is 1.14 $ per side ...
Pit orders and options trades is not included in this offer ... Can someone explain this table http://www.cftc.gov/stellent/groups/public/@financialdataforfcms/documents/file/fcmdata0709.pdf it shows OEC has net capital around 3 million only and 68 m seg required , i am worried about the saftey of funds is it safe with such small brokers , anyone ? thanks
Ok , just now i knew that OEC is a subsidiary of optionsXpress , thats good i think . http://www.openecry.com/company/generalinfo.cfm
OEC is owned by optionsxpress which has over $6billion in customer assest - look on line 92 - $82m capital. Now scary is line 132 Transact $1.5m capital and line 125 Velocity - $1.0m capital? YIKES! OEC is double each of these in customer assets as well.
Can someone trades with OEC explain this http://www.openecry.com/traderstoolbox/ordertypes.cfm?CurrentAssetType=Options&ViewBy=MarketGroup does this mean i can only use limit orders with options ?
I used to have a real acct with OEC for a lil over 2 yrs. Almost took huge losses w/ my acct when their servers went down 3 times. Data and orders were frozen for over an 1 hr each time . I dont care how much they lower their commisions to. Im not biting. Been with Mirus clearing thru Dorman for over 2 yrs now trading my pers acct and a number of managed accts, $3.00 RT. Excellent broker. My guess is OEC had been losing a steady stream of customers bcuz of their server problems that always seem to creep up when they say it should be "all fixed now". when someone advertises such low rates like OEC is ....theres always a catch. But the newbs will surely bite on their deal....thats for sure
isnt it safe to use any broker if orders are NEVER sent WITHOUT a bracket order.... i.e.............SPECIFIED TARGET AND STOP EXIT ORDER..... if orders are held at the exhange , wont this negate the calamity of a brokers servers "crashing"?????
i had same question, if you have a working stop and limit order in place before the crash, whats the worry?
