There is a chance for a bounce especially as the VIX surges to 40.

I wouldn't be surprised either if the markets sees some buying by mid morning.

One positive I can find is that a third of nasdaq stocks are down a whopping 60%!!

Since you are a perma-bear, why are you looking for positive signs? Keep shorting it.

Looks like oil and commodities could skyrocket as expected. I shorted airline stocks last Friday because I liked their chart patterns. Airlines will not be able to absorb those high aviation fuel costs and pass it all to the customer. Less customers and they could be sustaining pretty heavy losses. Food and gas prices going up too. And those airlines passing thru Russia's airspace have to go around and waste even more aviation fuel.

  5. The response is disproportionate but I doubt it's wholly unprovoked.

Really. So it was all the Ukrainian Neo-Nazis threatening a nuclear country 5X it's size with rhetoric that caused Putin to pull a preemptive strike? Man, what ye be smoking?

He's still heavily long US markets in his retirement fund just like all the investors he's always bitching about.

  8. Can you please clarify if you're being sarcastic here?

What are your honest thoughts in non-sarcastic words?

The sad thing is, he's wrong. The markets are going to drawdown slowly over time for as long as this war goes on. Friday's NFP had ZERO effect on the market, because this Ukraine shit is a black-swan the likes of which we have not seen. We don't need circuit breakers to see a worst-case scenario.

Basically, bulls like myself are screwed. Bears won this round.
