The best practice that I have found is a smaller, not so great shape golf club that isn't very busy. I often times take a bag of 50 balls and play from tee to green all the way through the bag on one hole and then repeat. Like the range but varied lies, works for me.
My point exactly for the majority of golfers that shoot 80-100 "Tour pros and all so good from 100 in" Do the math How many times do you pull out a long club on 18 versus the clubs you use for 100 on in? Yet when you go to the range the majority of people focus on driver over pitching and putting

I usually just play 9 as well...I get stuck on 45/46 almost every round. I need to level up and down to the 30s .
It is certainly possible. I'm sure the skills are there. Just need consistency like I would like to have.
Wonder what the big "game changing" announcement with Verizon will be. Any guesses? He’s about to announce a big investment with Verizon in New York next month that he says will be a game-changer for golf, and bring innovation and technology to the game. The aim is to grow the game and attract new and younger players. http://nypost.com/2017/10/02/greg-norman-verizon-are-betting-big-on-new-golf-technology/
No question you can save a lot of shots around the green if you know what you're doing. However, the consequences of a bad shot from long range are generally more severe. No one wants to play with people who are constantly in the woods looking for their tee shot.
