It's been years since I bought a few of them, but I put it on an old 6 iron and would practice with it early in the season to train my swing with. I also put one on a weighted club that I would swing indoors/outdoors (I'd also recommend). Either way, you will improve your release if you practice with these grip aids enough.
I use to have the same driver about 5yrs ago, I think I still have a couple of the wrenches lying around, you can have them if you want, use it to adjust your loft and your brain.
My suggestion for your Colorado Golf trip is to play late in the afternoon when the lightning storms are most prevalent.
Reminds me of the Par 67 course I first started playing on when I was about 11-12. The old timer's would ask what I shot (not knowing the par for the course). A glorified Par 3 course basically but my scores sure sounded good.
