  3. the problem is , with enough stretch , than everything short of sitting in an armchair pressing the channel changer is a sport.

tiddlywinks, no , better yet, pick-up sticks is as much of a sport as golf.

if you're saying that any physical activity at all qualifies as a 'sport' then you agree with Webster. Apparently , the official meaning of the word covers a lot of ground. So yes, Golf=tiddlywinks=porn surfing

1 a : a source of diversion : recreation b : sexual play c (1) : physical activity engaged in for pleasure (2) : a particular activity (as an athletic game) so engaged in

  4. you think if we all sat in a room for an hour or two, said nothing for the first hour, just observed, we could figure who each participant was?

If so, we could spend the third hour calling each other names.

    Now, that's sport.

  5. Hello

    Hello

LOL welcome to my world, i used to be a scratch golfer, when i was a junior, (18 and under) and now when i go golfing i sometimes have delusions of grandeur that i am as good as i was before. I can still hit my irons and my driver the same (when i hit a good shot) but EVERYTHING goes to shit around the green. I nailed a 2 iron to 7 feet the other day for my second shot, putting for eagle, and this green was ridiculously fast my first put went 10 and a half feet by the cup, so i try to power it to the cup and make my birdie, and i end up 3 and a half feet by the cup again. Miss my three put and end up taking a bogey when i had a put for eagle. LOL golf is an unreal sport, and probably one of the best for getting out in the sun and having fun with buddies.

If you lack the ability to actually understand golf then continue with your uninformed drivel.

I've played most sports -- basketball, baseball, football, tennis and golf. Golf is a hell of a lot tougher than baseball. In golf you have a specific target. In baseball you can hit the ball to RF, CF or LF and get a base hit. I've played scratch golf - played in state wide amateur tournaments. Have you?

Sad you apparently have no life. You bitch about the markets. You start stupid-ass threads like this. I'll play you 18 for $1000/hole. Better yet I'll trade you for a month with $1000/day going to the winner. Let me know when you want to commence - either the golf or trading. I love to engage with 'losers'.

  7. high level of difficulty does not make something a sport. pool (billiards) and playing violin are difficult; i wouldn't call them sports either.

one absolute requirement is some level of athleticism. when an activity has 70 year-olds playing it, like golf, it ain't a sport any more than bingo is.

Golf is challenging and a great game... my brother teaches it for a living... so my family does take it serously.

since there is no real definition its all subjective anyway.... but if a lot of the participants in your sport-game drink beer while doing it... its not likely a sport.
