hmm, I think we are talking about 2 different things. I was referring to the CR_d1 indicator and I believe you are referring to the CR_r0 indicator.

The CR curve itself is infinitely smooth to many decimal places. But the notches occur because when the curve is translated to be displayed the conversion is dependant on screen resolution. So if a point(s) lies between 2 pixels it appears to go straight and then "notch" down suddenly when CR has moved enough to justify a 1 pixel move. If this is what you are referring to then a slope indicator should slove it temporarily...

would be nice to know the type of line in MT4 though that addresses this....

  4. agreed... in my coding days in investor R/T it was named a "stepped line", I believe...(its been 3 years)

  5. FXCM had one color on the CR "stepped line" and I found this explanation, in another website....

    Stepped Lines
Many technical indicators have an option for drawing style. These include Continuous Line, Connected Line, Solid Histogram, Hollow Histogram, Custom Histogram, and Two Line Color. a new version, is called "Stepped Line".

A Stepped Line is composed of only vertical and horizontal lines. The small horizontal line across each bar represents the indicators value on that bar, and the small vertical lines connecting these horizontal lines represent the difference between each bars value (change).

Stepped Lines have two colors, one color for the horizontal lines, and a second color for the vertical lines. This new drawing method makes it easier to visualize the change from bar to bar of an indicators value by observing the height and direction of each vertical line.

Stepped lines also make it easier to pinpoint the exact price level of the indicator, via a more pronounced horizontal line segment at each price level.

Does anyone know what the "Historical data request pacing violation" means when fetching data in IB? Can't seem to find documentation on this specific error and seems to be happening fairly often now.

Its time related I think, only x number of requests per y seconds.
Would be nice to know the exact params.

    Hey fifo,

I have modified your cr_v0 indicator to display fib channels to max hi and lo deviation from the cr line. I guess this could be an alpha stage of an indicator for ES strategy. The next task I will tackle is rescale it to lower timeframes.
