Monday Daily 4hr 1hr What I'm waiting for: A reversal pattern and long entry around 3200 A clear directional bias above the 4hr TF. Until then I'll sit aside and observe
Friday Daily 4hr 1hr What I'm seeing: Overall momentum in still bearish but the bull run (3120-3250ish) since yesterday afternoon has been quite strong. I'll wait for a clear sign that the bull move has ended before looking for short entries.
Staring at past hindsight charts searching for random meaning, depth, understanding, pictures, symbols, explanations and coincidences all on the surface of things. That's like studying earthquakes and tidal waves and volcanic eruptions and expecting the exact same timing and coincidences to repeat themselves again and betting on that
I guess humans figured out all of those things by looking at chicken bones and chanting to the gods in the sky. Beats those stupid scientists in the field gathering data and looking for clues of things that keep repeating in the sequence of events leading up to said earthquake/tidal wave/volcano. When you buy a second hand car do you bother checking its service history or for signs of wear and tear. If its working today the rest is just hindsight bias right? And in no way, could possibly inform you of what to expect going forward.
If history always repeated itself with trading....there would be a ton of dumb rich people all around printing money out of their anuses, mouths and eyeballs. Staring at history alone, past charts, and trying to apply it to the future of trading is rather very basic and dumb and square. There's still plenty of variables and elements that can move that chart line in any given time frame. Trading is part art, part science...it's not a linear math problem with one fixed solution. Trading is a very dynamic, ever-changing, entity you're dealing with. And you too....must remain open-minded
I don't recall saying "The only thing to trading is reading a chart" maybe you read that in someone else's thread.
Just don't be a basic, dumb, square....learn to constantly think for yourself and question things. No single trading book or course or person is the Bible. Learn to view things as a growing dynamic organism....Because that's the only way you're going to survive in this life.,,,.
