Spend a day or two researching why traders fail. Make a list of the top reasons. If you don't do any of that stuff you'll be fine.
Nothing beats doing what you enjoy for a living. GO FOR IT! How would you feel when you are 70 and you didn't at least try and stayed in a job you hated?
Good for you! How much did you make trading last year? Enough to cover your living expenses and then some?
Yeah, go for it. Better late than never. Just be brutally honest with yourself by documenting your trading journey, at least in the first 6 months. If you can survive the next 6 months of this bear market, I'm sure you'll survive anything. But brace yourself, this market will get nasty.
when you need money - it's very hard to make money the only way i think full time would be safe is when your trading is so good that there would be no question to go full time. if you have doubts then that's an anchor around your neck.
I trade options.. swing trades of a few days hold, and a little day trades... the only negative Nancy is the one in my head... but I have not told everyone in my life of the decision
it would be nice if NANCY came to you and whispered in your ear babe you're the best and i know you will succeed at whatever you set your mind to doing.
I am glad that you are doing OPTIONS! I have been day trading for a couple of years now, and I have been reading and studying options. Last week I applied to upgrade my account to trade options, and am waiting to get approved. If they don't approve me I'll apply elsewhere. I am excited to try options to see if it's as easy as it's made out to be. If you are fairly certain that you can cover your living expenses, then don't hesitate and go for it. I wish you all the best!
