Going down with the ship ...

  1. I think Don Bright would argue with you on that one.

You can just as easily learn by success as failure.

All we learn by failure....is that we are not listening to those who are doing it right when they advise us.

See, Don has a system, and if people are emotionally equipped, properly funded, have the discipline, maturity, are not stubborn, have no issues with authority figures, begin the learning process like a sponge----absorbing the wisdom of others----rather than thinking they know it all in the beginning----they can and do succeed.

Have any doubts on that? Just ask Don.

  4. It seems that 80% of this forum is still obsessed with this stock called Aphexcoil(APHIE) for short...After several months of purposely taking this stock off of my screen, I still find myself drawn into the volatility of this particular issue...On several occasions, after its IPO, I found this stock to be trending nicely, albeit with a little bit of unpredictability...It seemed to hold its MA's, trend higher with slight pullbacks, always trading within a well defined and predictable trading channel...Everyone else seemed to have a decent time with this stock as well...Then one day, its day of reckoning came about...The analysts called it out and said, "Is this stock really worth all the fuss? Is there any value to this stock or has all of this been nothing more than mere speculation? Is there any fundamental value to this stock at all?" Following this day of reckoning, all the speculators stepped back and watched as the stock fell back to earth, penetrating the nice trading channel...The stock then proceeded to trade in fits of unpredictable volatility...One day spiking up, almost in a fit of delusional grandeur, the next day falling off of a cliff back to earth...As it did so, the interest amongst the speculators peaked, for everyone clamorred "what is to become of our beloved APHIE?" Is there any future for "APHIE"? Or has all of this just been another Wall Street scam?....

  5. When I was much younger I remember my dad saying, "Boy if you'd a bought Xerox at 10 you sure would be sittin' pretty now."

Well look at Xerox now. You just never know the path an upstart might take.

  6. Depends on how many splits you had since buying XRX at 10, doesn' it?

While I do think Aphie has a personality that has split multiple times, I don't think the rewards are quite the same as with stocks.

Aphexcoil. What happened? When you were just paper trading your confidence irritated everyone. Now is when you need to believe in your position. Assuming you had a valid reason to enter the trade. If not just get out.

Can you make a case that there is a high probability of ibm going to 65 before it hits 78 and within a couple of weeks? If not this is just a sucker bet, win or lose. The only thing that matters is your reason for entering the trade, not what anybody else thinks. Does this trade have any merit? You need to tell us. What does the market need to do from here to prove you right?

What was the initial debit? If you stick to 20% stop, how much room do you think that gives you? If you think you have an edge with the greeks, why not start a thread in the options forum to discuss it in detail. I'm trying to learn options better myself.

  9. Well if this guy doesn't stick to his trading plan and soon, APHIE will become delisted and reassigned as APHIQ :D

  10. Since your original kick ass futures plan requires 50K
to work, why not at least trade it live with SPY
    with only 100 shares???

Even if it doesnt make you much money, PROVING
TO YOURSELF, that you developed a plan that WORKS,
and actually learning to EXECUTE it with emotional
control will do wonders to your trading psyche.
