Ahh makes sense, ypour wondering about "TICK" value..... hate to break it to you but tht also does not make any sense..... mathematically anyways.... 1 tick on the ES is 12,50 bucks, thats an eights of a point on the SPY, does that make sense? Nope.... Sorry dude. wish i could explain it but this is another example of wallstreet being horseshit. Tick values are always different depending on the contract.
A MNQ micro not an NQ mini. I must admit I've never paid any attention to the notional contract values, just traded them. "For example, if the S&P 500 is trading at 2,900, one Micro E-mini S&P contract (ticker /MES) would be 2900 x the $5 multiplier, for a notional value of $14,500. By comparison, with the E-mini S&P (ticker /ES), at 2,900 x the $50 multiplier, notional value is $145,000." https://www.cmegroup.com/education/frequently-asked-questions-micro-e-mini-equity-index-futures.html 85.75 ES points per contract and going to bed. I kind of hate it when the money is so easy you actually get sick of being forced to stay at the grindstone.
Why? Because it is-LOL Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 Futures Contract Specs: Exchange: Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Class: Futures Trading Symbol: MNQ Contract Size: $2 x Nasdaq-100 Index Pricing Unit: U.S. Dollars Tick Size: 0.25 Tick Value: $0.50 Point Value: 1 = $2 Intraday Margin: $50 Contract Months: March, June, September & December Trading Hours: Sunday to Friday 6:00 pm – 5:00 pm ET Position Limit: 100 contracts
A quarter point on the ES is roughly 25 cents on the spys.... Thats the way i look at it, its always a ten 10:1 conversion.
I couldbe wrong but i think he is wondering the value per tick on the ES, you lose 50 quarter point, you make or lose more thn that on the spys/es.
Probably right, honestly my brain is mush and feels like its been doing a long shift of this... and it is just Sunday. I may need melatonin or something after last week plus the week ahead...
