Fortunately, people are crazy. Especially when it comes to money. I have made trades that a computer would just shut down trying to understand why I did it (I don't even know what I was thinking). Logic only goes so far in trading.
I think you will find it will be a few more then "some" that have a issue with it. I managed 4 wks one time on government benefits after working a big hr/wk 2 yr contract and decided to chill. I was willing to take any job after 3wks just to get out of the house again. The real issue to address will be how to stop those masses from rising up and destroying everything just because they have no personal direction and means in their own life. Either there is an agenda 21 plan in the works or there will have to be some major social shifts happen over the next 40-50yrs in the way society deals with its responsibility to maintaining an effective self sustaining society. I think I read recently somewhere about Switzerland (or some country around there) beginning to debate a "living payment" from the government to start to address this FUTURE issue as more jobs are automated/greater efficiencies are achieved. Instead of all the public purse being siphoned off by a select few (bail-outs, backroom deals aka corporate socialism), every single person would be given $xxx/wk to cover all base needs and they are free to then pursue what it is they are actually interested in work wise and it doesn't impact on the fixed government stipend. Those that want to chase $ can do so, those that wish to create can do so, those that want to give back to society can do so and those that don't want to work can sit on their ass and be able to live. Those that work are then not at a perceived "disadvantaged" to those that do nothing (Working will then be a distinct advantage). In fact, this setup seems to motivate more into productive output once their base hierarchy of needs are meet. Everyone has money, everyone spends in the economy, LOTS of profit to be made by those in (SMALL and big) business seeking it out. I know what your thinking.... Who's going to clean toilets and all the other menial jobs that everyone hates. It just might turn out those are the jobs that pay the most to attract people to fill service positions EVERYONE needs to use. Supposedly there are studies indicating that people actually become more proactive and self motivated when they get to pursue their own dreams..... Who would have thought Sounds all a bit like Communism to me though. The stick works better then a carrot. Nothing to worry about. As more people loose jobs, its not as if that has historically ever caused a desperate uprising by the have not's against the have's. As less and less people have money to spend, business will dry up all around causing a ever increasing flow on failure. But those that have politicians in their pocket will be SURE to thrive and when they don't, there is always the government bail outs to fall back on!
