It doesn't sink in does it! Bible is written by flawed men with flawed agendas (that is just typical human nature found within humans who have power and control). Prophesies are like trading predictions, only those which work out are presented to the sheep. The bible wasnt compiled in 2000 bc, it was compiled long after Jesus, so prophesies appear legit to christian sheep. So there's nothing to discuss about prophesies, it'll be like discussing honesty with a serial liar, it would be a useless discussion. What point is there in discussing an insane piece of logic?
It's obvious to me, I could write on for pages, but your minds are made up, bible prophesies are proof of God.
Doesn't matter when it was compiled. The book of Isaiah can stand alone. There is a copy that has existed since over 100 years before Jesus. It contains prophesies about Jesus and a prophecy that God would scatter the Israelites into the nations then bring them back to their land a second time. The first time was after the Babylonian captivity, several hundred of years before Jesus. DO YOU REALLY DEFY THE EVIDENCE THAT THIS WAS WRITTEN BEFORE JESUS' TIME? Isaiah 53:5,6 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Once again, If you want to know what I think; or why I think it, ask. You continually make assumptions, and make arguments based on those assumptions--rather than ask. That's exactly what trolls do. Besides, you're an ADMITTED TROLL
Did you research it? Did you ask around in the main religion forums of the internet? Did you research those responses? Compare that to your research into algo trading.
Righto, lets say (pretend if you like) that the real Jesus did not rise again. Long after Jesus death was when the gospels Matthew Mark Luke & John were written. How convenient is it to then say "Oh remember that guy Jesus 70 years ago, well he was spoken of in Isaiah, Jesus must have been him." So now we get a prophesy and turn it into reality by pretending Isiaiah was talking about this guy 70 years ago. So a fictional story is created. Now the Christians all yap on about the resurection but no one else knows anything about it. Repeat something fictional often enough and in christians heads it becomes real.
Lets get real for a moment, the Christians in the day were low educated riff raff, Jesus born in a virtual pig pen. The Jews were the educated ones, the scholars, Gods chosen ones so to speak and even the Jews say they are still awaiting the Messiah, they don't know who Jesus was. Conveniently the riff raff say they know the Messiah, but it most likely is a cock n bull story imo. Riff raff are usually FOS so it would not surprise.
I grew up in a Christian household and was at church every time the doors were open, which back then meant Sunday School at 9:30AM, the main worship service at 11AM, the Sunday night service at 7PM, and the Wednesday night service at 6 or 7PM. Later on that escalated to me actually teaching Sunday School in my early twenties and I also went on "Tuesday night visitation", which meant a group of us would go door-to-door to various houses in an effort to spread the Gospel. Needless to say, there's hardly anything a person can quote from the Bible that I haven't already heard a thousand times and/or taught to others. When I turned 40, everything started collapsing in terms of all my prior beliefs. There were just too many unanswered questions and I was sick of trying to use certain Bible verses out of context to provide half-ass answers that really made no sense at all. And that's when I became a true seeker. And it was shortly thereafter that I heard the one sentence that would change me forever: Believing is not knowing. In other words, just because you believe something to be true doesn't mean it's actually true. I realized for the first time that all I had done in my life up to that point was view life based upon what I was taught to believe instead of viewing life for what it really was. After that, I looked up the definition of belief, and sure enough, it said that a belief is just something you accept to be true. And that's exactly what I had done. So that's when I stepped back and started looking at other religions, namely the following: Islam Hinduism Buddhism Sikhism Judaism Jainism And what I discovered was very eye-opening. When I compared what was being taught in those religions versus what I was taught in my religion, it was blatantly obvious that they all served the same purpose, which was to explain God (or the Divine) in a way that was culturally relevant to the local people at that time. And that led me to the following thought: If I didn't have the Bible or any other past work to reference, how would I describe God, this life, and the world in which we live? If you start asking yourself questions like that, you'll quickly discover that what you've been taught and accepted to be true, versus what you experience to be true in this life are vastly different.
