Why is it exactly that people always want to live by the ocean, and are willing to pay top dollar for it? Is that something that God created within us? The severe desire to live by water was infused within us because Jesus's tribe were fishermen, or is it an instinctual thing that has evolved over millions of years, since our ancestry comes from the oceans? Think through it, and come to your own conclusion. Why DO we always want to live near the water, and pay premium prices for it? Where does our connection to it come from?
What if, that's exactly what you're doing. What you present isn't truth just because it's in the Bible. Just as Mein Kamphf isn't truth just because it's in Mein Kamphf. Then you are trolling. Questioning with legitimate reason why the Bible cannot be true isn't creating confusion. Not directly addressing the issues raised by the questions, insisting the Bible's true because it says so like you do, isn't confusing either. It's just unthinking circular nonsense. Making lame excuses when cornered about only asking questions that don't require narrative, whateverthef*ck that's supposed to be, like userque does, isn't confusing either. It is, in true troll fashion, dodging the question. imo, religious beliefs like yours often encourage people not to be truthful. Always right because you're a religious believer, not because what you believe is actually right or true. Not logging into ET to see if someone you've blocked has posted, purposefully clicking on the link you've blocked before you are logged in to read that post. That, by itself, is you trolling. But to then log in order to respond that post you blocked, is trolling of the first order, as Overnight and ph1l point out. Both you and userque are merely accusing others of what you are. But afterall, you are religious and zelous with it, so hypocrisy will come to you as second nature.
Ph1l, you really need to know that science does NOT support your theory of the evolution of a troll. Here, this will enlighten you:
I plan to follow up on Ph1l's concern regarding the article I posted at a later time. I am listening to this sermon by Charles Spurgeon right now and he is presenting he way of salvation in a very clear manner. I listen to sermons like these because they bring me a lot of joy in thinking about my Savior and what He has done for me. However, there is much in this sermon that could help someone who is seeking to understand why the Bible says that people need to be saved through faith in Jesus and how His death on the cross and resurrection are sufficient to satisfy God's wrath against our sins...if we repent and believe.
Unfortunately it's true. Such perverted ideas formed around a narcissitic suicidal controlling imaginary figure, can bring a lot of joy to some people. Fortunately for everone, enough people in the world are apparently able to find a lot of joy from trying to think more sensibly, less superstitiously and more rationally.
Stu wrote: "Questioning with legitimate reason why the Bible cannot be true isn't creating confusion." I completely agree with you here. The problem (as I see) it is that I've supplied you with thousands of supporting evidences to which most of your responses have not been academic in nature, but rather not considering actual evidence because of your prejudiced belief that you need not consider anything in the Bible based on the logic that you can't trust the Bible if it's the Bible that tells you so. Or you side-step the issues I've tried to discuss by making lots of accusations. What about the evidence I presented that the Isaiah scrolls, as well as the other dead sea scrolls, validated the Isaiah prophecies and many of the other books that prophesied of Jesus? Using well-accepted dating methods the copies of the original manuscripts have been dated to at least 100 years before Jesus was born. This is significant, because if a copy is dated to at least 100 years before Jesus, then the original works of these books would have necessarily have been written much earlier than these copies. These give descriptions of Jesus that simply could not have happened by chance. Consider this: Is there any other religion that comes close to comparing with the Biblical God's proclamation that He declares the end from the beginning? No other religions have as many clear prophesies describing events that took place at a future time, or will take place at a future time of the nature that the prophecies either come true or they don't. These are specific prophecies: An Everlasting One would be born in Bethlehem. One would come as a sin-bearer. At different times I've listed hundreds of these prophecies, mostly concerning Jesus, but there are more that were fulfilled about other subject matters that I've barely touched on. What other "god" is bold enough to say that if the thing that is prophesied does not come to pass, then that prophet is not sent by God? Scripture is very clear in portraying God as One who cannot lie. So God really did put Himself out there to be able to be scrutinized by skeptics in hope that they will seek and find Him, that He does what He says He will do and He is Who He says that He is. So, you want to turn a blind eye to the prophecies that Jesus fulfilled? Well, you're in luck because we are now at a time in history where there are many prophecies for this time period that are beginning to become fulfilled. If you don't find them in the Scriptures to see them happening, then it's likely you won't even recognize them when they do. Some of them I've found on my own (meaning just from reading on my own, not like someone had to point them out to me before I saw it.) Here are some prophecies that you might get to watch be fulfilled in your lifetime, possibly very soon. I'm showing a few that I came across on my own Bible reading, which I have looked up and verified that others have found them too: 1. Daniel 7:23 talks about a one world government that will be worse than any other kingdom that has existed. Out of this comes the Antichrist ("and another shall arise after them...") NOTE: this is nothing new, but the part that I found on my own was that this government exists before the Antichrist begins his terror reign. It's easy to see this if you read the entire chapter carefully, but this minor detail wasn't something I heard taught, or if I did, I didn't realize it, until after I came across it myself. there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all the kingdoms, and it shall devour the whole earth, and trample it down, and break it to pieces. As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise, and another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the former ones, and shall put down three kings. 25 He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High. Daniel 7:23 2. There will one day be a robotic army that can scale walls as described in Joel 2: 3 Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste— nothing escapes them. 4 They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry. 5 With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle. 6 At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale. 7 They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers. They all march in line, not swerving from their course. 8 They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead. They plunge through defenses without breaking ranks. 9 They rush upon the city; they run along the wall. They climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows. 3. There will be an event that takes place while it is night in one area and daytime in another. Isn't this proof enough that Jesus is God? He spoke this prophecy. Who else, living in that time period would have known that there is night and day simultaneously on this earth? Luke 17:34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. One will be taken and the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding together. One will be taken and the other left. And here are some that are well known: 1. There will be an event that many from around the world will view. Although it could simply mean there were representatives of many nations that passed by to observe this locally, the verse makes a lot more sense when we understand how technology has made it possible for people on every continent to simultaneously watch a single event. Those from the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb. And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate... Revelation 11:9:10a NASB 2. God said that He would bring back the nation of Israel after being scatter across the earth. I'm not aware of any other religion making such a prophecy or fulfilling that prophecy after 2,000 years. I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord... Ezekiel 37:12b, 13a 3. There will be a temple built in Israel that the Antichrist will defile. There are several prophecies about this event, and it triggers some of the worst times the world will know: 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 4. Finally, God intervenes and returns to rule over the earth and then comes the beautiful prophecies that finally there will be peace on earth and God will be known. Until the very end, at which point...well, go read the book of Revelation to find the rest of the story. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” Jeremiah 31:34 These prophecies may end up happening sooner than you think. And Stu, I hope that you will be one who will be among those who get to see Jeremiah 31:34 take place. And one last thing, these are just the prophecies that came to mind as I sat down to write this. There are many, many more prophecies yet to be fulfilled. Some of them name specific countries and events that will take place concerning them. Some have specific details of events that will happen during the Antichrist's reign. Some have specific details of things that will happen during the Messiah's reign. These things are given to us beforehand so that people can know, without a shadow of doubt, that the God of the Bible is the only True God. If you are sincerely "Questioning with legitimate reason why the Bible cannot be true" then I suggest you start a personal study of Bible prophecy. Weigh the ones that have been fulfilled with those that have not yet been fulfilled. Try to find prophecies that are invalidated, meaning it is not possible for them to be fulfilled. For example, if the Bible said that God was to be born in Bethlehem and then He was actually born in Russia, then that would be the kind of thing that would invalidate a prophecy. If you find any, I'd like to hear about it.
Rubbish. It's impossible to have an acedemic or any kind of reasonable conversation with someone like yourself whose single argument is, Bible's true because it's the Bible, who then throws biblical text at everything as you've done yet again. That is the only so called supporting evidences you have ever come up with, which is in fact one evidence, amounting to no more than circular, uncompelling nonsense. There has been fair and reasonable explanation made as to why prophesies you refer to as being fulfilled, like the Isaiah scrolls, are no such thing. The only response from you has been to ignore the issues raised and repeat that same circular Bible's true nonsense. You've said you get a lot of joy from hearing and believing perverted and depraved Bible tales about a hideous vicarious redemption story based upon cruelty and suicide. Let's leave it at that. If you really can't do better, stop reading me, stop replying to me, stop trolling people in your own thread when you have them on ignore.
