Ya, one could dream up all sorts of theories for my attitude. I've spent many years following the 'Jesus route'. One thing I've done since a little child is study body language. As well, observed christian behaviour in people, family, church aquaintences, friends, those religous people who make it in the media. "By their fruits ye shall know them". Christians are no different than unbelievers, they fight, divorce, lie, the only difference is Christian will put on a front, on the surface appear nice, underneath they are just like Joe Citizen, sometimes worse, sometimes better. I'm entitled to be a free thinker, express myself as I see best. I'm not anti God, I love people and nature, love wildlife and our environment, marvel at creation. But this bs about religion, it's just another man made hell hole to make life more difficult than it need be with rules, regulations, obligations, guilt etc. You two guys whom I'm sparring with, I wish you all the best, but methinks you have not thought this through well enough. You came to Christ, a decision you made on emotions, feelings, because of hearsay, tradition handed down, possibly because of peer pressure or admiration of someone (parents etc). But now you are an adult it is time for you to dig deeper, look outside the bible box. All you know is bible bible bible, one track narrow focus. As mentioned, to get out of that is very difficult, I know.
Indeed, do not mock. That fancy beautiful uplifting song is so far detached from reality it should make your head spin. But you fundamentalists will never accept what may have REALLY happened, and what the reality probably was...
Christians, narrow minded. They believe they are exclusive, the chosen few, the narrow path. NT Bible bs at its best! Cultists. If you can't get your own way, resort to fear tactics. Eternal hell fire, damnation, cursed by God. lmao
Makes sense. They had/have first hand knowledge of things that we can only read about. And they've been alive for at least thousands of years, and should have-been/be pretty smart by then/now. Our average age is, what, 70ish? Yet some still thought, "Hey! Let's overthrow Heaven!" Maybe those same demons influenced and inspired the key players of Jan. 6th? "Hey, Let's overthrow The Capitol!
Ok. I just got a little worried because there are some Christians who believe that if one blasphemes the Holy Spirit, one can no longer become a Christian. Mark 3:28–30: "Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven for their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin—for they had said, "He has an unclean spirit."" I remember reading that verse and wondering about it. Then one night, before I fell asleep I went over to my bedroom window to look outside. It was a beautiful scene. The moonlight and stars were usually very bright, there were no street lights, we lived in a beautiful hillside and the view was breathtaking. And there at the window, I did what I was very much afraid to so. I said the words. "I blaspheme the Holy Spirit." There. I had done it. It was now not possible for me to belong to God. I didn't actually want to not belong to God. I didn't want to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. I was so afraid of doing it, that I did it. (Was probably 12 years old at the time.) This bothered me so much that a few days, or maybe a week or so later, I asked my dad what happens if someone blasphemes the Holy Spirit. And I got a deep theological explanation. Then I asked if someone could do it today and he said no. It's not possible to do today, because that was directed at the Pharisees who actually saw Jesus' miracles and would not believe in Jesus, but attributed Jesus' miracles to Satan's power. We don't have Jesus doing miracles in front of us today. This is really important to understand because some movements within Christianity believe that it still can be done today. I do believe Scripture warns about hardening ones heart, and that can certainly lead down a path where it is harder to turn to God from. I just wanted to share that because I still hope that someday you'll be one of those "whosoevers" who come to know Christ. And if you thought you couldn't, it could keep you from even trying, which could keep you from actually becoming, one of God's own.
ME! Jesus loves His own! It was now just before the Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very end. John 13:1
Well damn, I cannot compete with a quoted Bible passage, down to book, chapter and verse, because I must not think for myself. Because if it is in the Bible, and people 2000 years later sing about it with the smell of unicorns and rainbows, it MUST be true in that context. No alternate thoughts allowed in the kingdom of God.
