Looks Like GM is done by april <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2167973>
Should be earlier than April......December and January are usually low sales months which will add to the cash burn problems.
BTW, GM has new Hummer sales incentives just out!!! You can buy a brand new H3 for $15,999.95 ($14,000 off MSRP) with the "physical gold" storage bins and the free dealer installed M-60 mounts!!!
Latest by april I think check out ford F <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2167984> Might Pull it for another year what is symbol for Toyota and Honda Pls?
Interesting comment. A senator just said the $15 billion auto bailout will actually cause bankruptcies for the automakers, by delaying the proper restructuring actions. Do not buy a GM car!
I was actually looking at getting one or two new pick-up trucks (to use on some rural property that we have) - - - GM makes the best 4 wheel drive vehicle for this particular application, (and beat out Toyota in terms of features and realiability). Unfortunately the buying decision has been put on hold. - - I wonder if we would end up buying something built by a government directed company - - & shudder at the thought of US Postal Service or Dept of Motor Vehicles mentality. I wonder about the shape of their parts suppliers. Might go Toyota despite certain features that are better in the GM trucks. At least there's a good chance they'll be around in 5 years. Been reassured by those who say "Of course they'll be around and there are a lot of vehicles out there . . . they gotta service them." But, no one really has any idea what will happen. I'd feel better about it if I knew they were being reorganized under bankruptcy & were dumping poor management and the union work rules, and getting "lean & mean". - - -
I donât know why the government just does not buy the big 3 in bankruptcy. We can cut out the CEO pay. We can dump all the debt and make the workers federal employees and have no more auto union. The government can decide a fare wage and investment in better gas mileage cars. This is a losing business and its cheaper on tax payers doing it this way.
After a number of American cars, and the resulting dead engine, transmission or both at a predictable 100-130,000 miles or so, I am sticking with Hondas and Toyotas from now on.
