until you establish causation it does not matter what I think or what you think or gore thinks as it is just a guess. If the question is - does man cause global warming and your answer is ... the earth is accumulating CO2....you have made a non answer... man's action may be irrelevant, it may have no effect, or it may accelerate a process which is inevitable... and that acceleration may be a benefit or a detriment to mans future or the earth's future. Would I prefer to preserve the status quo... yes. Do I want to transfer more of our countries wealth to china and india because of clima guessers - no.
"Until I establish causation?" I already showed you a graph of the energy absorption spectra of CO2. You already conceded the point. You have already established causation. Whether you believe nonsense about China or India or 8000 years ago has no bearing on this.
wow you are acting very dense? to what purpose? Do you realize other earth systems might be causing the CO2 accumulation because a warming trend precedes C02 accumulation? What the heck are you talking about 8000 years ago in China. I am talking about politicians using clima guessers warnings to set up wealth transfer schemes.
Other Earth systems are 100% not causing the CO2 accumulation as has already been proven. Measurements of carbon isotopes in the atmosphere prove that the carbon is man-made and came from human burning. There is no Earth system that creates isotopes similar to man-made burning of fossil fuels. So it's pretty simple, at its essence: 1) The carbon is human caused, without question 2) CO2 absorbs heat 3) Therefore the atmosphere is absorbing additional heat due to human causes.
you are not exhibiting logical constructs. If you did not seem sincere in your beliefs.... i would have left you alone. I worry you may crack when you realize how silly your argument is. fact Historically, warming precedes CO2 accumulation. fact you have not shown that CO2 accumulation precedes warming therefore... that "man made" carbon is being accumulated... is a red herring and in no way indicates man is causing global warming. As far as science knows warming happens than CO2 accumulates. If we were cooling the oceans or some other earth system would most likely be absorbing some or all of the excess CO2.
Ice core samples are the gold standard and they show that regular warming cycles have been happening for hundreds of thousands of years and that CO2 peaked and bottomed during these cycles without any human input.
Yes, you keep repeating this. It doesn't get any more insightful. You've already conceded that carbon absorbs heat so there isn't any method for you to argue that carbon in the atmosphere doesn't absorb heat now.
I conceded that point the the sake of this argument because it has no bearing on whether man is causing global warming. Your point may even be true... but since al gore made it, it is dubious. it seems the earth is in a warming cycle which causes CO2 to accumulate.
Even Al Gore's global warming guru, Professor Richard Alley, admitted this about the warming cycles that have been happening for hundreds of thousands of years (that we know about from ice core samples): "we know that the orbits drive the warming that causes the CO2 rise that causes more warming..." http://www.agu.org/meetings/fm09/lectures/lecture_videos/A23A.shtml
