Glenn Greenwald blasts MSNBC: The White House talking points youâre using are false On Morning Joe this morning, journalist Glenn Greenwald dismissed MSNBC co-host Mika Brzezinski for reading off of âWhite House talking pointsâ during an interview they had with him. Brzezinski indicated that Greenwaldâs stories were raising the wrong kind of speculation about the programs, reminding him that they were in fact legal. âI just want an answer, yes or no,â she began. âIsnât it the case that reviewing of e-mails or any wiretapping cannot take place without an additional warrant from a judge and a review? Itâs not like thereâs haphazard probing into all of our personal e-mails.â âThe White House talking points that youâre using are completely misleading and false,â Greenwald replied heatedly, reminding her that the NSA was exercising the power to listen to phone conversations and read emails of American citizens communicating overseas. âThe only time individual warrants are needed is when two people are both inside the United States and are both American citizens,â he explained. âBut under that law, the U.S. government and the NSA have the power and exercise the power to listen in on telephone conversations and read e-mails, involving all kinds of American citizens.â <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bwZPYgBjZGw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
