GLD vs. Spot gold

    Newbie question.

    Why is GLD down today when the spot gold shot up?

    I show spot gold down $16.35. My guess is you are looking at the settlement for gold futures... it settled up $6, but it settles at 130pm EST. Since the settlement it has collapsed.
