If you banned guns with mandatory jail sessions, people who have guns and intend to commit murder (which is illegal, of course) with them don't give a rats ass about your mandatory jail term, since murder comes with said jail term already. So they kinda go "so what? What difference does it make?" However, all those out there who protect themselves from bad guys are suddenly made a criminal or defenseless against bad guys. Why this logic escapes you is a mystery.

How can this happen in California? Not only do they have sanctuary cities, it's a sanctuary state. It's also a gun free zone, AND it's illegal to shoot people. The whole f'n state is a "safe zone".
