The wounded included children as young as 11 years old. The Chicago Tribune reports that the 11-year-old was “shot while walking to the store” and a 13-year-old was shot as bullets sprayed in another incident, killing one man and wounding two more. Two other individuals under the age of 18 were also shot during the 14 hours of violence. Six individuals were wounded in another shooting where the gunman or gunmen simply opened fire, and four were wounded when a 19-year-old gunman opened fire “outside in the 12300 block of South Yale Avenue in West Pullman around 10:50 p.m.” Someone returned fire on the 19-year-old, fatally wounding him with a shot to the chest. In another incident, a 46-year-old man was sitting in a car when the passenger became embroiled in an argument with another party. Shots rang out and the 46-year-old was shot seven times in the chest, killing him. On June 5, 2018, Breitbart News reported that over 1,000 people had been shot in gun-controlled Chicago year-to-date. Thirty-eight individuals were shot, eight fatally, over Memorial Day Weekend alone, yet the left’s solution to the failure of gun control has been to push for more gun control. Where is the outrage? Can someone show me David Hogg's tweet about this? Futurecurrents, why aren't you raging about this? An 11 year old, a 13 year old and two other kids under 18, yet nothing from the left. Crickets.
That's why it needs to be nationwide. All handguns. If you are caught with one, you go to jail. You sell one, you go to jail. Zero tolerance. I love how the brain dead gun nuts still bring up Chicago. Duh.
Many countries, especially developing countries, have very strict gun laws, but you even need to lock your car and have your windows closed when you drive because crime is so rampant. What makes you think 'eliminating guns' from a society makes it safer. Switzerland: "The country has about 2 million privately owned guns in a nation of 8.3 million people. In 2016, the country had 47 attempted homicides with firearms. The country's overall murder rate is near zero." Taking away guns does not fix crime, fixing society fixes crime.
Another example of an armed citizen stopping a criminal - this time from stealing a car with her two children in it. But good guys with guns don't stop bad guys with guns. Or so we're told by the narrative. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/cri...spect-head-after-trying-steal-suv-kids-inside Mother shoots carjacker in the head with 2 kids in SUV, Dallas police say Loyd Brumfield, Breaking News producer Updated at 1:45 p.m. with more details. A woman shot a man in the head as he tried to steal her SUV with her two children inside Wednesday night, Dallas police say. An employee of a gas station in the 200 block of West Camp Wisdom Road, near the border with Duncanville, alerted the mother about 10 p.m. that a man was trying to get into her SUV . She jumped into the vehicle. When the man didn't stop, she pulled a gun from the glove box and shot him in the head, police said. The vehicle then crashed into a utility pole. The suspect, 36-year-old Ricky Wright, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. He faces two counts of unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The woman and her children were not injured, police said. The victim, in interviews with area television stations, had stern words for the suspect. "I should have just have emptied the whole clip but I didn't. I didn't. I just wanted to give him a warning shot that was it," the woman, who did not want to be identified, told KTVT-TV (Channel 11). "I'm not a killer or anything like that, but I do believe in defending what's mine."
Sorry... but I will point out that most gun instructors will tell you when dealing with criminals intent on doing harm to yourself or others - you should always empty all the rounds until the criminal(s) are no longer moving. You do not fire "warning shots". It is your life or theirs in these situations and you must put the criminal down so they will do you (or others) no further harm. This being said -- when you do this you better be sure the criminal is doing harm to you, your family and others that requires an immediate response. Car-jacking the SUV with your children in it certainly qualifies as a situation which requires an immediate response.
Actually they teach you to shoot until the threat is no longer a threat. Not "no longer moving". If you fire aand miss and they take off, you don't keep shooting. Likewise if you've hit him 3 times and he's still coming at you, you keep firing.
That is correct. I should have expressed it properly. The bottom line is you do not fire "warning shots".
