Bone, respectfully, this is a political discussion forum and this is a political topic that is quite serious at this point. It is no different than any other argument in this forum on a whole host of issues. So why is it you want me specifically to "give it a rest"? If you don't like my position or arguments, you can debate them or ignore them. Perhaps you can do it better than futurecurrents (the bar is pretty low there).
Timothy McVeigh served in the Army and his recipe for the Oklahoma City bombing can be found in several Army manuals that can be bought on Amazon and eBay. One of them also has instructions for making an improvised 9mm pistol and 12-gauge shotgun. And then there are the 10s of thousands of recipes and instructables on the internet, not the least of which is Al-Qaeda's Inspire Magazine which features articles with catchy titles like "Make a bomb in the kitchen of your mom." Bottom line is, anyone who wants to kill will find a way. And all the laws in the world won't stop them.
He's not telling you to shut up. He's telling you it's a waste of time. And he's right. The anti-gun rights crowd are secretly thrilled every time there is a mass shooting. Stopping them or gun violence in general is the last thing they want. You can see that by how they react to proposals that would actually make a difference but which do not involve infringing gun owners' rights. Their goal is confiscation. The easiest way to get there is by whipping up hysteria like they did in the UK and Australia.
The emotional hemophiliacs on the left are much more interested in scoring political points and funding PACs than they are in actually using the Constitutional recourse afforded them in order to correct with finality their perceived flaws in our civic construct. You see, Article Five of the Constitution prescribes a clear path for serious progressives to permanently dispense with these nagging problems. Don’t like guns ? Repeal the Second Amendment. Can’t stand the Electoral College ? Repeal the Twelve Amendment. At the very least, show some balls and bring a Repeal Bill to Committee or to the Floor. But why kill the cash cow ? What are you left to fund raise off of - Donald Trump’s twitter account and Stormy Daniels nasty cooch ?
And these gun-crazy morons want guns in schools? Yeah, what could possibly go wrong? Off-duty police officer in California pointed a gun at man buying Mentos candy https://abcnews.go.com/US/off-duty-police-officer-california-pointed-gun-man/story?id=54956281 An off-duty California police officer pulled a gun on a man whom he accused of stealing Mentos candy at a gas station, according to ABC TV station KABC in Los Angeles. The man had in fact just purchased the candy, according to surveillance video of the March 16 incident posted by KABC. In the video, a customer later identified as Jose Arreola can be seen paying a cashier for the Mentos at the gas station in Orange County south of Los Angeles. Moments later, a man in black shorts and a black shirt who is standing in line behind Arreola pulls out a gun and tells him to put the candy back. Orange County Register Surveillance video shows an off-duty Buena Park police officer pointing his gun at a man he thought stole Mentos at a gas station. The man had actually just purchased them.more + After Arreola tells the man he paid for the candy, the man asks the clerk, "Did he pay for this?" The clerk confirms the purchase, and the officer apologizes to Arreola. Arreola told the Orange County Register in a story published Friday that the incident left him scared and angry. “It’s been a month and I still can’t shake it,” Arreola said. “It was traumatic, the whole incident." He told the Register has retained an attorney and is seeking financial damages from the Buena Park police department. The Buena Park police confirmed that the man, whose identity has not been released, is an officer in their department and that an investigation is underway. In a Facebook post, Buena Park Police Chief Corey Sianez said, “We were aware of this incident after it occurred and we immediately began conducting an administrative investigation into the conduct of the officer involved.” Chief Sianez added, “I want you to know that after I watched the video I found it to be disturbing, as I’m sure it was to you. However, because there is an ongoing personnel investigation and potential litigation pending against the city, I am unable to discuss the details of our investigation.”
Oh, this is rich... “Do as Hollywood celebrities say, not as they do. Actress Alyssa Milano attended an anti-NRA protest in downtown Dallas today — and she did it surrounded by armed guards.” http://www.theamericanmirror.com/video-hollywood-actress-attends-anti-gun-protest-with-armed-guards/
Apparently teachers in Texas are better trained than the police force in Buena Park, CA. They’ve been carrying inside schools for years now - it’s somewhat common across the state in fact. https://www.creators.com/read/john-stossel/04/18/teachers-with-guns And btw that cop will be fired unless somehow the union can save him. Even with a CCP if a citizen draws a gun on another citizen that is a felony assault charge.
Over 100 children die each year by getting hit by cars versus 28 children who die in school shootings. And they still allow motor vehicles on school property? How absurd is that? Some Leftists are now talking about situations where someone does not even get hurt by a gun as reason for more regulation. The Left can only use emotional arguments for the rare occurrences as shown statistics on school gun deaths. School shooting deaths are not nearly as serious compared to the other causes of children's deaths that do not get media attention. As the lawyer's joke goes: "If the law is against you, pound the facts". "If the facts are against you, pound the law". "If both the facts and the law are against you, pound the table".
