In my opinion FOREX is the next best thing to slice bread.
If there were no NQ or ES to trade I would trade FOREX exclusively.

Note: The Euro Currency Futures contract will give you the pivot off the opening bid/ask action that you seek. The Euro often has large gap-moves in the overnight market. Technically, you could play off this since you are at least 3 hours behind me. By the time the Euro Futures re-opens for trading in the overnight market you could be well on your way with an overnight order already working. An often 2:00am EST time movement would only be 11pm your time. You could ketch that easily.........I'd be fast asleep.

......but hey what do I know...Im never right!

I am having much more success trading the es. However I learned new methods which I haven't tried on the spi. Its been a few months since I have been involved in the Aussie market. I would prefer not to have to sit up through the night! Its just after 3am right now....:(

The open and close are the most liquid time of the day, as you would expect, but the volume is not even on the same planet as the es. The spi takes 24 hrs to do the same volume as the es does in 3 minutes. Nearly knocked me off my chair when I first saw it! But nights like this make me wonder why I bother though.

I suggest you look at the charts on futuresource to get an idea. Look at the spi, 3yr bonds and 10 yr bonds. Don't bother with anything else. You can't trade our interest rate products through IB though.

I intend to revisit our market in the coming months. I want to see if my current methods work in the spi.

    Good luck!

  4. ONE of the differences between casino gambling and trading is that in casino gambling, participation is all or none. Each opportunity is a win all or lose all situation. This is not so in tradng and is what makes trading more desirable for me than gambling.

  6. Moohead everytime I get one of those casino popups.... don't think for a minute that I am not tempted. Fortunately I have a popup preventer but before I did.... aye carrumba. As i mentioned to a friend several days ago, I'd rather be in a bad position with a few hundred shares than be flat. Being flat stinks.

And right now I am flat, and it stinks. After all, look at my signature!!!

    Moohead,

like i said, i am not looking for 24 hour trading jollies; rather, i'm looking for another market to focus my trading to make efficient profit. i have not gambled EVER in a casino or otherwise, and i probably never will.

    good trading :)
