Does anyone understand these prices: GG Jan'09 Calls Strike/Ticker/Bid/Ask 25.00 OPJAE.X 7.50 7.80 25.00 VHRAE.X 22.20 22.90 How can there be such different prices for the same strike and expiration? What's different about the contracts?
The answer to these sort of "odd pricing" questions can always be found in the Contract Adjustments section at the OCC. http://www.theocc.com/market/infomemos/info_memos_form.jsp In this case, the VHR series represents 169 shares of GG due to an aquisition of Glamis Gold. http://www.optionsclearing.com/market/infomemos/2006/nov/22252.pdf In addition, you're probably seeing a recent Yahoo bug which does not convert LEAPS to their non-LEAP equivalent symbol and permanently leaves the prices where they were before the renaming. OPJ should have gone away on May 12th 2006.
