Hey, I'm sure there are lots of thread out there similar to this one, but I'm just introducing myself and asking a couple questions. I'm a physics major/econ minor in my junior year of undergrad and I am curious how many of you out there that are successful came from similar quantitative backgrounds. I'm taking statistical mechanics this semester and my teacher keeps referring to similarities to economics which piqued my already growing interest in the subject. So, I guess my main questions are does a quantitative background give one any advantage in the trading world which I have read on many discussions in here does not require overwhelming intelligence, and also what would be the best steps for one to fluidly transfer from physics into testing out trading?
