You are seriously fucking stupid, ignorant or both. For the most part, slavery was never legal in Europe. Although the British and Dutch empires were heavily involved in the Atlantic slavery trade through their navies, these Africans were never brought into Europe as slaves. From the 1600's, slavery was illegal throughout the Netherlands and for Britain, almost all of the slaves concerned were transported from Africa to the Americas and never saw the British Isles. Of those who did arrive in Britain, most worked as domestic servants with the provision of meals and wages just like any other person in that era. The "freedom principle" in early 1700's France is well known. Any slaves that arrived on it's shores were automatically freed by order of the Parlement of Paris. Of course all that still doesn't prevent blacks from being the wretched underclass.
I simply do not frequent places where I know there will be a black majority. If that makes me racist, then I don't give a shit. I'm not going to be put in a situation like Leapup described anymore. Eventually, those places will go out of business, because it is unlikely they will be able to sustain their economic model for long. Blacks that behave like that hurt themselves and their community most. They're just too fucking stupid to understand that. And by the way, I've seen rednecks behave similarly before when they found out I was from New York and sitting in their diner. So it's not just a black thing. It's a stupid thing.
I may be pretty fucking stupid, but that doesn't excuse your own ignorance. Did you not refer to both Brazil and Western Europe as being free of a slave history? No history of slavery in Brazil? LOL! Good one!! Take a look at Portugal's history of slavery. By the mid 1550's African slaves made up more than 10% of Lisbon's population. France declared a law in 1738 to stop the import of African slaves into the country. The irony there is that if they were found in the country after 1738, they simply resold them to the Colonies for a tidy profit to the king. It's no secret that African slavery ran rampant in Spain throughout the Renaissance. How do you think the Spaniards got their kinky nappy hair? Granted, England didn't want the Africans in their country, but sold the shit out of them to Europe and the Americas. As you say, the ones who were kept in England, worked as lowly house servants. Why do you think that every country in Western Europe passed slavery abolition laws? Use some common sense. Stop acting so foolish and do some research instead of listening to those who teach ignorance. " For the most part slavery was never legal in Europe?" You're not joking are you? Holy shit.
Hoof wrote, I know that you, AAA, Capn Obvious and others are thinking, "When the hell are you pussy liberal leftists gonna quit crying about the past and start dealing with the now?" The left often accuses the right of being stuck in the 50's. When it comes to race relations that's exactly where the left has chosen to stay stuck. They have their reasons. What's done cannot be undone. At some point you get past it and move on. You keep picking at a scab and eventually it gets infected. That's where we're at today. I asked it before, I'll ask it again. Why, with much more discrimination and racism in the 50's and 60's were black men and women able to make better choices for themselves than the black men of today? The answer is right in front of our faces and it's just too much for the left to reckon with. They, the left, have with forethought and malice, keep an entire race of people on Uncle Sam's plantation just to keep their vote. What they have done to these people is an unspeakable horror, far worse than slavery, and this race of Black Americans are forever crippled by it.
I said most, not all. If you actually know anything about the geography and economic make up of Europe during that time, African slaves as an economic and labor commodity was simply not needed. That's why their economic input throughout that area was based on serfs and not slaves. It was their colonies that had a great appetite for cheap labor. Many of the slavery abolishment acts passed in Europe as a result of the age of enlightenment were only for show as this practice was not widespread in the first place. Look at Japan, no history of enslaving Africans. But if you walk around Roppongi, that entire place is now infested with Africans who now has a reputation amongst the Japanese for crime, petty theft and date rape pubs. Your historical revisionism is just rubbish.
That's a great point. Let's look at Japan. There's no history of slave trade, and they also have no significant population of blacks to even speak of. I guess they didn't show up to Japan in droves of canoes like they did Brazil and Western Europe, huh?
Yet another example of, "No good deed goes unpunished".... not to mention the fact the Holder Justice Department is reluctant to prosecute blacks. The Lesson... "the more you give people, the more they want and feel entitled to... and show their anger that you you didn't give them more and sooner." And to make things worse... as the blacks vote as a racial block, they have TREMENDOUS political clout... way, WAY more than their percentage representation of the population.... an argument for the concept of "if you don't pay Federal Income Tax, you don't get to vote"... better still, "One vote for ever $Dollar you pay in Federal Income Tax". The genius Founders had the correct concept of "who gets to vote and determine policy for the country". Sick!
"... They, the left, have with forethought and malice, keep an entire race of people on Uncle Sam's plantation just to keep their vote...." How poignant is that?? Charles Barkley... "Poor black people have been voting Democrat for 60 years, and they're still poor." Looks more and more like political design and exploitation.... especially now in the Odumbo/Holder administration.
