is there ANY shot in hell this could happen?

I can't believe how horrible this system is. If I wanted to trade NASDAQ- would trade the exchange that does it right.

This Hybrid is just absolutely horrible.

I am assuming going to hear that its here to stay and get used to it. But anyone want to give me a glimmer of hope?

  2. Sorry, but it's not going to happen. They came out with hybrid because they were pretty much forced to. They didn't do it to please the daytraders, scalpers, tape readers, etc.

By the way, I agree, it's horrible. Our best hope is that they make adjustments to it to improve it, but it's not going to go away.

  3. Hold on, let me give John Thain a call :D

  4. It's funny, I've been surprised the other way. I didn't think the Specialists would just "go away quietly" - and they haven't...they just use "sweeps" instead of "trade throughs with price improvement" - this has put many of my traders right back in the same "outside enveloping" strategies as before (for basic entry/exits).

yah, going to have to adjust instead of hoping they pull their head out of their ass.

Just so much noise, so many damn ridiculous prints...for me its a total cluster **** right now. Went from averaging 5 figure months to being up 2,600 for the YEAR.

Brutal. But thanks for dashing my hopes...adjust or get out I guess.

hey Don...how long before the Specialist is gone for good???

    just a guess

or will it continue like this for years to come

  7. When we are right on the brink of Y3K... :D

we have a better chance of them going to nickles instead of pennies

    that would help!!

  9. For those that are not profitable under the new hybrid market, moving to nickels would be very bad...you'd lose 5 times faster :D

because you can't adjust you would like to hamper others.
i guess you think that you are a specialist
and other investors/traders owe you a living.
